CaribSea Arag-Alive 20-lb Bag of Vibrant Fiji Pink Sand for Aquariums

Bryan B.Bryan B.: I love the fiji pink sand. Unfortunately I lost my home/ tanks due to a wild fire. I'm finally getting tanks up and going again. A 40 galon and 200. I bought multiple bags of sand. Usually come with a magnetic clarifier. I bought 7 or 8 bags and only 2 had the clarifier. One was open and leaked into the sand before I had opened the bag and I put it in the 40 gallon. That tank cleared up after 2-3 days. The other clarifier went into the 200 gallon but was not enough. On day 5, and tank is still extremely cloudy. That clarifier makes a huge difference. With out it, tank will stay cloudy for a long time unless you rinse the sand. But you are supposed to with this sand because of the live bacteria it contains. If it had the clarifier it would be 5 stars all day. This is not a sellers issue. They got me the bags quickly. This was just a mishap at the packaging plant. Wouldn't stop me from buying again. Just frustrating to still have a cloudy tank after this many days

hunt: I'm giving it a 5 star because it dose what it should do. But if you think you can just dump this into your tank don't. I do not care how you try and add this if you do not rinse it off first it will cloud your tank for days.

John L.: Used this brand for around 12 years in 7 different reefs with zero issues. Arrived faster that expected and was the described color I ordered. I know a lot of people have gotten other color bags with Fiji pink stickers placed over top, but mine came printed on the bag and looks great.

Handyman: This sand looks good in my tank. Has a nice color and varied grain sizes. 3 bags worked well in my 75 gallon tank. It did take 2 days for the water to clear up. I started another tank at the same time and this one cycled 3 days faster.

ryan plant: This sand has held my ph consistent at 8.2. My tap only has a 7.4 ph. Cycles fast and looks great. 5 star. Highly recommend. It’s expensive but it will never need to be replaced and contains tons of beneficial bacteria.

RAVI K.RAVI K.: I had ordered 2 bags but got 1...good thing is they refunded the amount for 1 bag within a week.
It's been just a month now and the CARIB SEA Aragonite alive reef sand seems to have started doing its job perfectly.
I had mixed it with dead sand which it has been slowly turning to live.
The appearance is unique and very appealing.
Pros: It suppressed the new tank syndrome, reduced ammonia, natural filter. The water is clean and crystal clear. The best part provided lots of surface area for bacterial adhesion.
Cons: None

I would recommend this product a must buy for all reef/saltwater tanks.
My tank dimension: 42X16X18 (inches)
FYI: 1 bag was enough to attain a depth of 1.5 inch ( I had mixed it with dead sand. 22lbs Carib sea sand + 7 lbs of Dead sand)

AaronAaron: I thought I made the wrong choice when the delivery came but once the water was in and the lights were on it was the best decision, beautiful white sand with small specs of Fiji Pink rocks and really helped the chemical balance within my tank, Will 10/10 recommend.
