Rick Short: I purchased this gas can for use with a chainsaw. They have small gas tanks, small filler holes, and are usually filled with the saw laying in its side in the dirt or balanced on a log. This is the perfect recipe for spilled gasoline.

I already owned this brand of gas can for filling riding lawnmowers, so I knew of its great performance.

When I asked my sons which gas can they prefer for chainsaw use, they both named this brand.

I am now using it and it delivers the precise amount of gas needed to fill the chainsaw tank, with no overflow due to sloppy cutoff. I drop the trigger and the gas flow ceases. Perfect!

Would I purchase this again? This IS a multiple repeat purchase!!! I love it. It works excellently. No mess.

J. Richter: A million times better than cans that require pulling spouts, removing internal caps, etc.
You PUSH A BUTTON and the gas comes out. You can control the flow with how hard you push the button. Release it, and it shuts off immediately.
This can is great because it nearly eliminates spills, overfills, and getting gas on your hands.

I think this is the best can design for the homeowner. But there is an issue with overall quality. I have had to replace 2 of these that developed leaks along seams, one on the top, the other on a side, due I think to poor welds along the seams. Its a very common issue with these plastic cans. The 5 or six others I've owned or used have held up. The overall convenience and safety when dispensing outweighs this flaw in my opinion. But you do need to keep an eye on these for leaks.
A small improvement in build precision would make these cans invincible.

David: The contemporary governmental notions of free flowing ideas, speech, and social interactions are a perfect metaphor for this throttled down, highly engineered little fuel can. It's flow is a grade above ant-spit which was what CARB mandated for decades, but still, there isn't a 70 year old lady with arthritic hands who can operate this thing or should be made to pay this exorbitant price for what should be a simple $3.99 plastic jug with a spout. However, all that said, if your hands are good, your balance perfect, your patience long and your sense of value dulled by inflation realities, then this works good enough and you can virtue signal the entire neighborhood all you need to.

Jordan Choice: I purchased this gas can mostly because of the shape. It has a wide base which gives the container a lower center of gravity than most other gas cans of similar size when filled with gas. Most other brands are higher with a narrower base which makes them much more prone to tipping over on their side. This gas can is not likely to tip over...unless it is in your car when you are unfortunate enough to roll it.

The last thing you want is for your full gas can to tip over on its side, because then chances are gasoline will leak out. Even gas can screw caps with rubber gaskets tend to leak somewhat when a full container is laying on its side. My old Midwest 1 gallon gas can tipped over recently and gasoline dripped onto the carpet I have in the back of my truck (which has a fiberglass canopy mounted on top). It had been laying on its side for days (perhaps weeks) when I discovered it. Now the carpet smells of gasoline.

I wouldn't say that the spout with thumb button control on this gas can is "Spill-Proof", but it sure is preferable over today's gas can spring loaded spouts that you push down on your tank's filler neck to pour. Those almost always lead to some spilling...

Amazon Customer: This works really well for filling small things like chainsaws, generators and any two-stroke toy. However, since the nozzle is so big, it often covers the entire hole, so it's tough to see inside - I don't see where having such a big diameter spout would be beneficial on small canisters. It can also bve awkward to use with some toys, like older snowmobiles because the handlebars restrict movement.

Big intake, big output... that's fine with me! I like it because it's light because it really sucks trying to fill a small generator with even a 2.5 gallon tank. The device is spring loaded and can be painful if you have weak hands.

What I don't like is the device that "locks" the canister's, a ratchet type piece of plastic and with it on there, hurts my hands to unscrew; removing it makes it a lot easier but definitely not the best tightener but doesn't leak.
