It blew a bunch of foam looking stuff out of the hole and then dried up a sealed in the hole. Hasn't hurt the compressor and it's still sealed. Has been a couple of weeks so far

Old Radio Guy: My son and I are restoring a black and red 89 Iroc z. Cool-looking, but murder in the summer sun. The seller swore that the AC worked, but it had a leak, and he wasn't kidding. Fully charged, the AC worked great. But after bringing the charge up to mid-level with three 12-oz cans of replacement R134a, the system was down to near zero in one or two days. And it's 90+ here in Maryland with 70-95% humidity. And we're saving our pennies for good headers, not AC (yet). And in this weather with crazy humidity and sudden thunderstorms, opening the T-tops doesn't cut it. What to do, what to do...............
So after reading the reviews, we tried this ID brand sealant. I wasn't hopeful, because our leak was major. But we hoped to limp by until cooler fall weather, and then do major repairs next spring.
Three weeks later, the AC is still blasting out cold air and the charge level appears to be spot-on. I added this leak stop and then another three 12-oz cans of R-134a. IMPORTANT: If you have a can tap with a slash tip that punctures the top of an R134a can, it won't work with most leak-stop cans. So buy this one because it has the correct can tap, which uses a pin to push...

Dee: POOR QUALITY & INACCURATE GUAGE
The hose and fittings are of good quality, and they fit well. The unit is also designed well; the long hose, and rubber covering the guage protects it if the unit bumps into something.
The guage worked well on my truck, but when I used it a second time on my car, the guage - at some point - crapped out. For whether the unit was hooked up to the A/C port, or whether it was free standing, the guage read the same. I now don't know what the pressure of the A/C system is in my car.
Sadly, this manufacturer has a monopoly on recharge hoses that are sold under different brand names, in all of the major stores, which means that finding a replacement will be difficult.
I returned the unit.

B. Colonna: This is a really well made hose. I recently needed to add R134A to my 2002 Dodge Durango. I bought a few cans of the refrigerant, believing I had a hose I could reuse from a previous purchase. Unfortunately, that hose had no piercing device built in to the screw on adapter for the can. It was meant for a specific brand of R134A which used a trigger on its can.
So I shopped around and settled on this hose. At 24" it is a better length for most applications than some of the cheaper hoses found in big box stores. Some low pressure ports can be hard to reach, and you need enough hose to connect to the port and still have room to turn the R134A can from '12 O'clock' to '3 O'Clock', while keeping clear of running engine belts, etc.
The hose has general instructions on the back of the package. Please make sure you read them, and the information on your R134A can! If you aren't sure, or comfortable, better to leave this job to a pro. Adding too much refrigerant is worse than being low.
The hose is advertised as 24". It is actually a couple of inches longer when you factor in the fittings and connectors. So you don't lose any length making your connections. On one end...
