audrey: Their is something bout the way this book is written that makes the chapters seem short, like I flew through this book.
Spoilers- It is a little creepy that Matthew is having the feels for T, his kidnapper but hep you do you. (is it wrong to see fan are; if anyone is reading this tell me where you found some)
T can suck it really. That man, no boy tore my man Matt apart after years of heartache.
If you want to feel distressed and want to punch someone or something read this. The tension between the both of them really got to me and kept me reading, but they way M fell for T made me give it 4 star

Amazon Customer: Loved it. Poor Matthew. He deserves better. I mean. Poor guy. Sooo good though. Love the lore. Hope he gets his karma.

Aki: I just finish book 3 and I have to say the plot is good but too many cliffhangers. To many details which drags the story far more that it is necessary.
A lot of caracters and not always easy to keep up. The sex scene are not really well done. But the worst are the torture and rape. The torture scenes dont' seems to en. At some point and I had to pass them otherwize I would have drop the all book.
Now the worst is the fact there is no end. The last book was out in 2021 and it doesn't' seems that the Vol 4 will ever be out. It actually reminds me of the same type of Dark MM fantasy the Flamme Book. We never got the end. We don't even know what happened to the author. So frustrating.
Overall Ok

Agvas: Loved the world and the original twist on the vampire, incubus and other creates known to us. Plenty of action, steamy scenes but for me this was about the freedom and exploration the characters experience, about how there is so much less judgement in this world than there is in ours. Great story, I enjoyed it very much.

S Legend: I think it's important to note, this book is a Captive/Slave book. It's not a "BDSM, Master/Slave" book. That was clear to me picking this up. Some of the reviews have been written as to compare the themes in this book to the latter and that's like comparing a stone and feather. In BDSM, there's consent plus a whole lotta other stuff because it's two people deciding what they want in their relationship.
That is not this book. This book is not trying to be that.
When someone takes you captive, there is NO consent. They are abducting you. This is not a safe, sane, or consensual relationship. If that's not your thing, if you're looking for BDSM, this ain't it so back out now. I can give you some good recs.
The "falling for your captor," that's the taboo here people. That's the "wicked fantasy," and why I showed up. Yeah, I'm one of those. So I freaking LOVED this book. That doesn't mean I took pleasure in the abuse (my heart bled for Matthew), but I sure as HELL loved reading it. I loved reading how he got through it. How he fought the odds. It made me feel so many things. I enjoyed suffering with him.
I loved that no character in this book was 100% pure....

Elle: Firstly, I have to say that this is not a romance. I say that because most of what I read is, and some of my followers may assume this one is as well. It's not.
The main character is Matthew, who was turned into a vampire when he was 32. He was left to not only fend for himself, but to figure out vampirism on his own. He's struggled, but he has survived for seven years. It's been a dark existence though, and he has killed a number of humans because he hasn't been able to figure out how to survive without killing his blood donors.
Then he meets Tarrick, who is an incubus. Matthew had no idea that incubi even existed, let alone that they were mortal enemies with vampires. Matthew is captured, and his education begins. There are many things about the supernatural world that Matthew didn't know and starts to learn, and also things about himself that he learns.
The relationship between Matthew and Tarrick is complicated. They are master and slave, sometimes lovers (but both sleep with other people in the book, which is not cheating because they're not a couple), sometimes friends,...

Carol: I'll start off by saying that this book did help get me out of a reading slump, and the actual plot is intriguing. HOWEVER. The story does contain a lot of problematic content that won't be for everyone.
It's still too early to say what the end-game for this series will be, because this doesn't feel like a romance novel when there's absolutely nothing redeemable about the presumed love interest. The love interest is the captor and torturer and the main character develops Stockholm Syndrome for his captor. I really don't know how this is going to play out.
There's currently three books published, and the author says on their website that this series will span between six to nine books. So, anything can happen, but the "love interest" is not my favorite at this time (or even remotely likable) and can die by book two if you want my stance on that character after reading this book.
So, who are the characters? The story is told solely from Matthew's POV. Matthew is a vampire - a child by vampire standards. Matthew was turned when he was thirty-two and has been living the past seven years on his own. He's been lonely and hasn't been able to interact with anyone who...
