Merrie: This is a great little camera for anyone who is looking to take the next step in their photography. I bought this camera after I outgrew my entry level camera, also a canon. I wanted to stay in the canon line so that I could keep my old lenses. This was a great choice. I simply bought an adapter so that I could keep using my DSLR lenses with the mirrorless m6 mark ii. The color is good. And because I shoot a lot of video the rear monitor it comes with was a must. It's small and light. Perfect for video and photography.

Louis Espinosa: My wife has a Mirrorless Canon R series and she LOVES it. The main issue is that it's quite big and is not something you want to carry around everyday and it's expensive. I received a work bonus and decided to buy my wife this M6 Mark II. It's beautiful! There's something about the retro design and clicks that the camera makes that has you feeling like you're using a film camera. It's incredibly light and compact making it more of an everyday camera. This doesn't take away from the quality either. We shoot in RAW and it does great looking video.

Bryan B.: Yes, Canon is abandoning its EF-M line, which is really sad, because there was so much potential and appeal. The M6ii is the best of the EF-M line, so if you can get your hands on one and the Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 and 32mm f/1.4, you have yourself a superb compact/travel kit. Those two lenses will get you the most out of this 32MP camera and provide the two most versatile focal lengths (FF equivalent of a 35mm and 50mm or nifty fifty). I also recommend getting 43mm to 58MM step up rings and the Freewell 58MM variable ND filters. There is also a Sigma 16mm f/1.4 and Sigma 56mm f/1.4 (roughly 25mm and 90mm FF equivalents) and they are superb as well. I actually just bought a second M6ii in case my original one breaks or has any issues. That’s how much I enjoy it.

What I like:
The form factor cannot be beat. It’s so compact and doesn’t draw attention. I bring this thing almost everywhere. Heck, even at Red Rocks where they don’t allow anything bigger than a “fixed lens point and shoot” didn’t balk at this little guy. I’ve tried other FF cameras, but I always come back to this because of its smaller size.
With the right lenses, it creates some amazing...

roy ngan: I just got it. It appears OK. The auto focus is quick. The picture quality is better than my old Fuji E3, but I can't say the quality of camera is better. Let me use it for a while, I will let your guys know.

Elephants Never Forget: I've been using the M system since the very first release a decade ago. The M6 Mark II is the highest performing M body. And it may be the last. I wanted this for the 4K. You should be made aware that it isn't actually 4K, it's somewhere around 3K up-scaled in-camera to a 4K output. This is a bit cheeky of Canon to do and at this point few of us are surprised, with Canon being infamous for crippling their cameras. However, I am still very happy with the "4K" video files. The rolling shutter is among the lowest of all APS-C 4K cameras and of course the colours are very nice.

I use the slow motion feature a lot (120fps) but be warned that when in this mode, autofocus and sound are disabled - another cripple-tastic move by Canon.

I don't take many stills with this, but having taken the same images on both this and my older M6 (mark 1) and comparing the stills side by side, I don't see a significant difference. I know this has the higher resolution sensor now but I personally don't see much point. You'll need some high end L series glass to get the best out of this sensor and unless your goal is to print somewhat larger images or you love to zoom in to 400% and compare...

Dr David MacKinnon Can I send it back: Fantastic camera but video is only 30 minutes in length. Fantastic images.

Lisa Clarke: I did a ton of research and the M6 mark ii was the camera for me. I have had it for just over a week and am very impressed. It has a high quality feel and build. Highly recommend downloading the Canon app to use all the camera functions with your phone. if you are a blogger or do a lot of solo shooting this is an amazing tool.

EA: I don’t like the lack of weather sealing and built-in viewfinder, otherwise it is a great camera.

Edit after 8 months of use: I still like the camera a lot. I think it was the right choice for me.

Pros:

Speed: It is a fast camera. I don't think this is an obvious choice for action and bird photography, but it is definitely a capable crop-sensor camera compared to alternatives (as of 2020).

Auto-focus: Reasonably fast and very accurate.

Image resolution: 32.5mp is more than enough, especially given the sensor size.

Ergonomics: It is comfortable and small. It has three dials, you can use one for shutter-speed, one of aperture and one for exposure compensation (or ISO). It is fun and convenient to use in the manual mode. I also like the custom modes. I don't use back-button focusing much, but it is easy to set-up if you need.

EF lenses: You can easily adapt older and cheaper EF and EF-S lenses with an adapter. There are many options for adapters starting from around $50. I got the official Canon adapter at a discount for less than $100. I tried Canon EF 50mm STM, EF-S 55-250mm STM and couple of Sigma DG lenses. They are all...
