Angel: El autoenfoque deja mucho que desear eso sí, pero en general es muy buena cámara tiene muchos modos q te facilitarán la vida, aunque debes tener en mente para q la utilizarás por q puede que para tomas de acción no te ayude mucho

Injuh: I often use the Lumix S5 as a B-camera to the Blackmagic 6k Pro. Shoot in V-Log and colour transform to Blackmagic Gen 5 in DaVinci Resolve. The colours match pretty well with the 6K Pro in good lighting scenarios. I don't rely on auto focus, but what I can say is that the S5 doesn't perform well. But, then again, I don't use AF. In good lighting situations set the f-stop appropriately and keep the subject in place. For photos, it's great. One reason why I didn't buy another Blackmagic camera as a b-cam is because I wanted to do photos as well. The S5 has a great price under $1,950 CAD NEW. If you find the camera more than that that the seller is scamming you.

Ecolometrics: I have been using this for at least two years. The stand out features of this is the video quality, and IBIS. I primarily use this for video in 10 bit.

The good

I do not have overheating issues when shooting in 10 bit mode, though in 90F heat I do feel it get noticeably warm after an hour. I have not had it shut down on me.

The battery is typically safe for 1:30 of 10 bit footage (1:45 or 1:50 total possibly) when using the LCD. Using 3rd party batteries there is at least 15% less run time on average.

When comparing against the Sony A7, there is the light weight construction (sony is no different) control ergonomics (something sony lacks) and control options (way better than sony).

The video quality is better than my D850. I have at least four video profiles set up on my camera depending on the situation, but you can have more under C3 by going through the menu. I have shot it in (almost) complete darkness and was able to get usable footage after some light cleaning (flat profile).

For sound, the auto limit works and keeps things from clipping.

The 20-60mm lens is pretty good as a kit video lens for most things. It has a sharpness...

Eduardo José Quijada Baloa: Venia de una Canon t5i y al decir está quedé impresionado con la calidad, la nitidez. Y si la combinan con un lente 85mm 1.8f de verdad quedarán enamorados

Fabio Dias: I got this camera to take not-as-well-lit pictures of my kid, coming from a crop canon. I paired it with a 28-70 2.8 from sigma and it's nothing short of magic. I get useable shots with iso 6400, and the AF is quick and decent (tho lacks the phase detection system introduced on the S5 II). Log video recording is something I can't do without at this point, and I'm not even that into video. Sure, the R6 mk2 or a7 IV also tick all those boxes, but they cost _significantly_ more than this one, especially with it on sale. I was actually planning on an R6 with a pancake prime, but I got the s5 + a decent/fast zoom for the same total price. Can't recommend it enough. Go check what Jordan Drake has to say on petapixel/dpreview, he actually used it as main camera for a quite a while.

Norma Lee: Since the Lumix S5 is a mirrorless camera, I was expecting it to be light. Most reviews talked about the portability of it, how small it was, etc. On receiving the camera (which took 5 days even though I bought it from Amazon and it was supposedly "in stock"), I realized it is heavier than my Nikon DSLR! But I took it around to check for picture quality, and that also was not as expected. The autofocus seemed off, but in any case it was way too heavy for an old person so I attempted to return it. Amazon claims it is unable to be returned, but on the description of the camera on Amazon's website, it states you must make your return in 30 days. I attempted to return it in about 7 days. I was told to go to Panasonic's site and return directly to them, but when I click on that link, I end up back at Amazon. I will never ever buy another camera from Amazon. Be aware that for some reason, this particular camera cannot be returned.

Marcus Garamond: If you want to have a camera for vlogs stay away from this camera. Perhaps stick to ones that go on phones as those have a lot better autofocus and whatever auto-wizardy one needs as long as you got the ideal lighting conditions.

If video quality is what you’re after but you’re not really some filming crew I think this camera is amazing. First time I saw its full frame output I was blown away by the details. My G85’s MFT sensor just can’t beat the S5’s because of physics I guess.

The S5 has better autofocus performance compared to the G85 but it still won’t beat an iPhone. The big brother kinda loses a bit on IBIS but not that much. The S5 also seems to be able last longer on a single charge of its battery, like 2-3 times longer than my G85.

I suppose that if autofocus is important to you go get the S5II as that comes with Phase Detection AF. But if video quality is what you’re after and won’t mind manual focusing sometimes then this camera is amazing. Anyway if you’re a serious filmmaker autofocus shouldn’t be a factor. It’s got V-Log, 4K video up to 60FPS (in cropped mode though) and amazing full frame output.
