Amazon Customer: I LOVE this Camelbak. I am in my 60's, 5'2'' and 110 pounds and this Camelbak is perfect for me. I am training for a Half Marathon, and this has been a such a game changer for me. I don't have to stop for water, I can keep on going and stay hydrated. I am very satisfied with this Camelbak and I am so glad I decided to give it a try. I also learned a trick so the water does not slosh around. Turn it upside down after filling with water and suck all the air out of it, it works like a charm!

Ryan LaBargeRyan LaBarge: This is so much easier to run with than a water bottle on the hip! I used it running my first 1/2 marathon last month.

It's very comfortable and has a clip to hold the hose in place while running. Doesn't leak, just make sure that you close it tightly.

The chest strap fits just right for me, if you are more muscular built, you'd want a model with a larger chest strap.

Muy practica y le cabe lo básico, celular, llaves, identificación y un chaleco de malla con reflejante o un impermeable. No afecta la movilidad y no se siente que llevas una mochila en la espalda. Para rutas más largas donde requieras llevar equipo para la bici o senderismo si es mejor una más grande, aunque funciona perfectamente si alguien más de tu grupo lleva el equipo.

Ham Sandwich: I'm not afraid to admit it - I need a good buzz when I'm stuck in a pew for more than 15 minutes, tops. That extra slug of syrupy red at the altar does nothing for me.

The CamelBak Octane is slim enough to conceal under my suit jacket, and the drinking tube threads nicely out and just under my lapel. I pre-mix 1.5 liters of Bloody Marys - the wife likes Cosmos, she has her own rig - and I'm ready for story time, singing the songs, all that stuff.

Needless to say I'm pretty crushed by the time we're driving out to brunch but I've got the big guy up in the sky looking out for me so it's cool.

MitchMitch: I’ve had this hydration pack for a number of years… it has always had an issue with leaking having to tighten the cap down super tight… but I’ve solved the problem. I’ve cut the gasket seal out and just Snugly tighten the cap no longer leaks… the gasket never fit right anyway so now it’s perfect

Roberto MDA: Sul mercato esistono ormai mille prodotti simili ma Camelback, che li ha lanciati, ha sempre una marcia in più, sia per i materiali che per le finiture.
La parte in gomma ed il tubo di distribuzione non hanno alcun odore nè retrogusto di plastica, cosa che succede con imitazioni a basso costo.
Ho scelto una versione piccola ma comunque capiente per qualche oggetto utile nella corsa o nel ciclismo.
Altro vantaggio è poter sempre reperire ricambi o parti sostitutive…

Patrick: So I bought this to help with hydration while training for my first marathon. I have a Nathan water belt that couldn't carry enough water for the increasingly long training runs. Plus I didn't like how much it moved when I ran when I filled the bottles to the max. Felt heavy.

During my first run with this pack, I was preparing the 1-star review in my mind. Right away the dribble of water down my back. Had to refill it twice during a 15-miler, and my socks were soaked by the end with that constant stream. Not fun.

Convinced the reservoir was a pin-cushion, I started experimenting at the kitchen sink. No leaks until the water was high enough to come thru the seal around the screw-on cap. So then I tried to screw the cap on tight. The "so tight you have to muscle it a bit to get it open" type of tight. And then, no more leaks. I just hope the seal will last.

With that behind me, I can now rate it objectively.

The pros:
- The 1.5L capacity is plenty of water for my long runs, once I stopped the leaking. I'm not a big guy but I sweat something fierce on hot days and it's gotten me thru an 18-miler with some to spare.
