trevor marshall: Oh my God, I have received this album yesterday. And I have listened to it a dozen times. This album I bought after I played borderlands. But anyways on to the review. The vinyl is 180 gram audiophile recording ( you think they would advertise that). The first thing that hits you is the artwork, simplistic at first look and exceedingly complex as you gaze at it. The entire jacket is matte cardboard and gives off a Retro vibe. Even the lankest on the vinyl is reminiscent of stuff from the seventies and eighties.

The album starts out with the track in one ear, this upbeat doing is pretty much a screw you to the critics and trolls calling them talentless. A very good opener.

Second is the track James brown, a song that is very open to interpretation. In my own opinion it is about how being a spy comes back to haunt you.

Next is the track tiny littel robots, a rather fast song about a robot that thinks its human.

After that is the last song on side A titled lotus, which is about if you have power, when your dead and gone people can and will twist your words to justify their own actions, very thought provoking.

After that is the opener of side B, back...

HWLights92: I'm not gonna lie to you, I love old music. If you look at my music library it's filled with classic artists like Rush, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Dio, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, etc. It's not often that I look at music from newer artists as I've noticed the quality of the musical acts that come out these days has vastly decreased since the golden age of rock. I managed to snag the single "Aint No Rest For the Wicked" free on iTunes a while back but never had a chance to actually listen to it. When I finally got a chance to I was blown away so I decided to pick up the album it was from and I am glad I did. "Cage the Elephant" is one of the best debut albums I've heard from a newer act in a long time. One of the best modern albums I've ever picked up. I also had a chance to see the band perform at Orion Music+More back in June and they do a pretty awesome live show too.

For me personally the standout songs on the album are "In One Ear" "James Brown" and "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked" but the entire album kicks major @$$

I look forward to listening to more albums from these guys.
