Cafelat Silicone Group Head Gasket for Espresso Machines

DGV: This gasket works great in my Rancilio Silvia espresso machine. It doesn't get hard or brittle. No leaks around the head. I would highly recommend it.

Geoff: It's a gasket. It works. Buy the red one if you have a Profitec Pro 300 - the blue one ends up being just a little too thick, so you'll have difficulty seating your portafilter.

Jasmine Park: Fits and works perfectly for a Gaggia Classic Pro. I should have switched to this from the beginning. The original rubber gasket had an issue with water building up inside, not letting the portafilter lock in at the proper angle. Highly recommend!

Vincent DiBona: I had previously ordered a silicone gasket replacement for my Quick Mill QM67 espresso machine. This one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZJKFSFY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It was a soft silicone and distorted upon installation. It probably would have been ok for a Gaggia Classic, but not for my standard E61 group head. When my portafilter got inserted the handle went WAY past 6 O'clock. It probably would have been ok, but it wouldn't have been right with the handle 80°off to the side. I returned this one immediately.

I still wanted a replacement gasket and someone recommended this, the Cafelat brand. I was a little concerned about this one, the Cafelat brand, also being blue and silicone. But this one is of a harder rubber like material like the one that came on my QuickMiill. The colors that Cafelat makes them in made me concerned, but once I felt it anc compared the size to the OEM gasket I knew I had ordered the right one. I guess Cafelat colors their gaskets to denote thicknes. I think red is 8mm. I ordered the 8.5mm version which comes in blue.

So if you have a machine with an E61 group head this will probably be a good...

C.R.: Dichtung bestellt, eingebaut und ersten Espresso bezogen! Alles ohne jegliche Probleme. Die Blaue Silikondichtung passt perfekt und gibt eine stramme Resonanz beim einspannen des Siebträgers. Die Dichtung ist zusätzlich absolut Geruchsneutral, was man von der Originaldichtung nicht behaupten kann.
Ich bin sehr zufrieden, hoffe die Dichtung hält lange - dann bestelle ich sie definitiv erneut!

C. MatzC. Matz: Ich habe die Dichtung in der 8,5mm Variante im Rahmen einer umfangreicheren Wartung bei meiner Bezzera Magica eingesetzt und bin sehr zufrieden.
Die werkseitigen verbaute Gummidichtung altert durch die Hitze und wird spröde und rissig. Darunter leidet die Dichtheit und auch die Hygiene.
Bei mir war die Dichtwirkung nach ca. 4 Jahren nicht mehr gegeben. Die alte Dichtung war nach dieser Zeit schon verformt, ausgehärtet und porös, wodurch der Ausbau schon etwas Kraft erforderte.
Ich würde empfehlen diese Hauptdichtung daher schon eher zu tauschen - ist in 5 Minuten gemacht und man hat lange Ruhe dadurch.
Das Material der neuen Dichtung hat eine passende Härte und ist erwartungsgemäß schön glatt und dadurch gut zu reinigen.
Der Zustand auf dem Bild lässt sich mit einmaligem Drüberwischen erreichen.
Silikon ist außerdem beständig gegen Hitze - ich gehe davon aus, dass sich an den Eigenschaften über Jahre hinweg nichts ändert.
Insgesamt würde ich die Dichtung für jede Siebträgermaschine spätestens nach Verschleiß der Originaldichtung empfehlen.
