E. Nash: First things first- I love this rod! I had a very negative experience with a different Cadence rod and reviewed it harshly, and to the seller's credit they reached out to try and make things right. I decided to give them another try with a different rod (this one) and I'm very happy that I did. I paired this with a 1000 series finesse reel and it has exactly the right combination of sensitivity and backbone for drop shot and ned rig fishing, my primary application for this setup. I can't speak to durability yet but we're off to an excellent start!

MyPenName: This thing is great. I’d always fished with the cheap combos you’d pick up at local retailers. $10-20 on sale, zebco, Shakespeare, etc…. That got me fishing and I was relatively happy with them. This rod however, takes things to a whole different level. It’s about sensitivity. This rod makes fishing with the cheap combos feel like I had nailed a reel to a 2x4. I can feel so much more of what’s going on at the end of my line, little nibbles I would have missed out on are now readily detected. I can feel the difference between a fish biting and bumping a plant or rock. It’s resulted in more fish caught and fewer snags when trying to set the hook on a submerged tree branch.
I’m very budget conscious, but sometimes things are just worth the price of upgrading, and this is definitely one of those times.
