S S Darling: I had rotator cuff surgery in right shoulder and arthritis in left. To use this brush properly, I need to lift my arm higher and back farther. I'd find it easier to use if the handle were curved. It has good quality materials and made well.

Michele T: I have been trying to find a stiff bristle shower brush to replace an old one for some time now. All the ones from local stores I bought were so soft they felt like cotton balls on a stick when rubbed across my back. I was looking for something more stiff that could really help exfoliate my back during winter months when it feels so dry and itchy. Some of the reviews on this brush claimed that one side was too stiff for regular use, so it sounded exactly like what I was looking for.

The Pros: One side is nice and soft and would be great for applying body wash. The other is just the right stiffness for exfoliating my back. Exactly what I was looking for!

The Con: After hanging the brush in my shower (completely dry) I returned to the bathroom an hour later to a massive stench. Some reviews talk about a body odor smell, and folks that didn't do it justice. It was like a pubescent teenager that hasn't discovered deodorant or proper bathing in 100 degree weather kind of smell. It was horrible!

The solution: And yes there is one for those who get a stinky brush like a select few of us did! I first tried to leave it out on a covered porch all day thinking the winter...

rol: I have had this brush for four days and taken as many showers with it. I give it five stars in terms of quality. it looks just like its picture and on close examination it seems very well built., The wood handle is sturdy and attractive, the bristles on both sides of the Bausch seem firmly implanted and durable - though I will know better after, say, a year, and it is long enough to reach all places on my back, which is my hardest to reach area.
With respect to function, that is in many ways a matter of taste, so I won’t try to assess it with stars but just tell you my reactions. You can use it with shower gel on the brush (preferable) or you can coat it with bar soap by rubbing a bar of soap over the brush head, but gel seems the better option. . I use the soft bristle side to do my back and body. I find it a bit scratchy on my back though not so uncomfortable that it bothers me. I like it quite a bit, however, when I use it instead of a wash cloth to scrub my legs and other parts of my body. I think the stuff bristles are a bit too stiff for body washing, but they feel good when I am washing my hair and after applying shampoo use the brush to scrub my scalp. But these are...
