Kindle Customer: Reviews stating that the item doesn't stay cold for long are true, but the real benefit is when wearing them with shoes. The gel pads keep the heel of the shoe from irritating my heel. I have bursitis of the heel. I can last a while day wearing shoes whereas before I would have to sit or take them off from the pain and swelling. Overall I'm pretty happy with it.

El Nino: I have plantar fasciitis and have had a lot of success with a compression bandage. I was looking for something similar with a lower/smaller profile, so this looked just right. I should not have believed all the positive reviews. Maybe they were written by shills. This is a terrible product for any type of heel pain because it has a big seam running up from the bottom of the heel to the ankle! How can something be advertised for the heel when it causes such pain on the bottom of the foot! Never mind the ridiculous cost for a small piece of neoprene that doesn't really provide compression at all. It is also too bad you can't return it.

AS: I was suffering from moderate heel and achilles pain due to excessive physical activity (running, hiking, double-unders, box jumps, etc.). I recognized the symptoms that eventually lead to a ruptured achilles tendon so I took immediate action and bought this gel heel hugger. I used it in conjunction with shoe insoles and a runners achilles wrap. I was surprised that only after 2 weeks of this regimen I felt very little to no pain. I keep it in my freezer at all times and make it a habit to wear it after any workout for about 10 minutes whether I feel pain or not. It's very comfortable and I'm very happy with the purchase.

Jacqui Hyland:
Helped cure my plantar fasciitis so quickly I haven't had time to learn the spelling of this painful, (Mainly - to the best of my understanding - arch and heel related to flat arches and over pronation, which basically meant I looked like a duck on ice rinks all my life,) foot problem. It came on suddenly, well, at least the part that made me want to prop it on a pillow all day but mostly had me wincing in pain as I limped through days of really bad heel and arch pain. My doctor suggested stretches for my toes, basically squeezing and un squeezing, (is that a word?), my toes, using them like fingers - to pick up and move things around, using scarves, long socks or yoga bands, placed close to my toes, while lying on my back and pulling while straightening my calves and heels.
More importantly, and getting around to the product using anything like a Heel Hugger, socks, orthotics, and you're going to hate this; new shoes, preferably, flat with major arch support to accommodate all this bulk, the worst news being that this is a long-term problem and could take eight to nine months to cure.
I used a large enough size of these in combination with all of...

Jessie Shaw: This helps alot for onset heel pain, however the top becomes irratating , seems tight after a while. I use them but for onset pain only.yes I would recomend them but i used them with heavy socks on top and did find that it kept the calcanious stable in the shoe.I would just say their uncomfortable after a few hours.
