So having a good quality printer is a must have for me and at the top of the list for Office products. Well I will definitely say that this printer is very much worth the investment. I am astonished at the quality printing from this printer. And the best part, the ink...I purchased this printer exactly 13 months ago and it came with ink that was supposed to last up to a year. Well, I am excited to say that it very much exceeded my expectations. After 13 months of printing , printing , and more printing, I have finally after 1 year and a month had to replace the ink tanks. I started getting 'low ink' indicators about 2 months ago...but, I wanted to see how long I could actually go before having to change out the ink tanks. And I will say that, I probably could have gone a bit longer based on the estimated number of sheets remaining that the printer indicated were left to print. But, I didn't want to go much longer. So I pretty much ran it till it was dry...but to my amazement, it still kept printing quality documents and such. No streaking or faded print, nothing at all like you would get with your typical inkjet...

After a couple of weeks of reading online reviews on numerous all-in-one printers, I settled on this one and I’m glad that I did.
I have been using Canon Printers for years based on their excellent photo printing, and name recognition, but got tired of them constantly jamming/breaking down and the overpriced ink. I really don’t print many photos anyways, so I decided not to consider that during this purchase.
The Brother printer has a responsive touch screen and easy to navigate menu. My old printers would often take a few minutes to start printing once woken up from being idle, but this one wakes up within seconds and starts printing right away. It’s also quiet and doesn’t shake the table it’s sitting on while going about it’s business.
The downloadable software for Mac computers and the iPhone app are easy to use and quick to download, and I haven’t had any issues finding my printer from either device through Wi-Fi.
I’m hoping that the Inkvestment tanks will be a vast improvement on the old cartridges that used to last a few hundred pages max and cost about the same. The box claims 1800 pages out of the box,...

Drac:
After my old Canon inkjet printer broke (loudly and dramatically in the middle of printing a picture) I needed to replace it quickly. I did not have time for a lot of research. After looking over the offerings from HP, Canon and Epson - all with larger percentages of 1 and 2 star ratings, I decided to widen my search. I have a Brother FAX machine that has worked reliably so I researched their inkjet offerings. The lower star ratings were there - but fewer than other brands and I was intrigued by the huge ink cartridges. My Canon had tiny (and expensive) cartridges - and, to add insult to injury, it INSISTED upon cleaning the print heads any time I turned on the printer (wasting ink and delaying my access to the unit by 30-45 seconds) even if all I was doing was scanning. To be fair, the Brother does that too, but since it has a sleep mode it is not necessary to turn it off - and it does NOT clean the heads when being awakened from sleep mode. Being in a hurry I, picked a printer that seemed to have good specs for a reasonable price. I wanted good photo printing, scanning and copying. The J995DW seemed to be a decent choice.
Unpacking was very easy -...

Phil H: Bought this particular printer for home, primarily because I was getting sick & tired of having to purchase ink cartridges every time I go to use a printer. Not using a printer very often at home, the cartridges would get dry and consequently the quality of the print would deteriorate. Not to mention the clunking and banging for 10 minutes before producing a printed document! This printer was very easy to set up and the speed is unbelievable - within seconds of hitting the print button on whatever device you're printing from, you have a high quality printed document waiting. No more clunking and banging, or white streaks in the printing. I have had the printer for 4 months and so far I am very impressed and would recommend.

Pros:
Cheap to operate for an inkjet. I have printed 175 pages so far and only used about 10% of the ink. I like the tank method over the bottle method.
Fast, Quiet, and very smooth operation.
Many different ways to hook it up: WPS, WPS with PIN, SSID/Password (the method I used), Ethernet, or USB (yes it can be a share printer too, if you do not want it on your network).
Brother iPrint and iScan; either on your computer and/or your iPhone. Wonderful, if you get documents that need to be printed now, and your computers are off, just tap on your iPhone anywhere in the house and you have them instantly – Love It! Of course, If on a computer, you can print directly from your programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Poster Print, yes it is cool to get giant documents printed out from Word or Excel; but what is really nice is being able to print out giant maps via 4K Jpegs. I can now get giant detailed maps that are razor sharp. This could possibly be better than sliced bread.
Print Quality, the sharpness is about 97% of a Laser Printer. Color printing, either plain paper or photo is excellent. Black ink on documents...

D W Forbes:
Extremely easy to integrate on the network and it's immediately recognized and properly used by a variety of devices (Windows, macos, and mobile). It looks like it should provide great value per page if it lives up to the endurance ratings.
Having said that, I'm always a bit surprised at the poor quality of inkjet printers for small type, this one included (though it does fantastic in the reviews). Even at the highest possible DPI, it absolutely pales compared to my colour laser. For a lot of content this isn't a dealbreaker, but if you have very small text it can be a problem.

BM: Best printer I've ever had. Scanning is starting to act up several years later but ultimately would recommend and will likely buy again.
