Dr. Documentary: I really love the star. The cable to connect to the electricity is short so I had to use an extension cord for it to properly be on the top of my tree.

Tammy G.Tammy G.: We put a thin metal rod into an anchor on the wall so that the star could slide onto that rather than on the tree just because we wanted it to look like it was floating there. It's not too complicated to put together but I'm worried that after another couple seasons the tabs that hold the spikes in will break no matter how careful we are putting it together and taking it apart. Might have to glue it together if it gets to that point because I don't want to have to keep replacing it every couple of years.

But besides all that we got many compliments and it's definitely a keeper.

Mimi: Two main difficulties:

1. Getting it on the tree was an issue. The description says it has a clamp to attach it but, that’s not true. Instead, there are green zip ties that don’t really match the color of a Christmas tree. Also, how is one supposed to zip tie such a multi dimensional solid piece of plastic on top of a tree? It doesn’t work out so well.

2. Putting it together also was a challenge. You have to be very careful not to break each spike as you gently nudge each piece into place. It’s difficult.

Also, please note that this is a bright white light so if your Christmas tree has soft lights, this is going to clash.

I wouldn’t advise buying this as a tree topper.

HB: This star looked lovely on top of our Christmas tree this year. I had no problems with the assembly which took me about 15 minutes or so. I only needed one green zip tie (provided) to affix the star to the tree, although it took a little adjusting before it sat correctly. When lit, the star casts a pretty glow and looks very nice. On it's own, the star is somewhat 'cheap' looking as it is completely made of plastic, but atop our tree with the lights and decorations it was beautiful. I got several compliments and inquiries as to where I had purchased it. I needed a change from my very traditional angel tree topper, and I was very happy with this purchase.
