Kurt Adler 10-Light Indoor Natural Rattan Star Treetop Decoration

BaugherBaugher: I love the design of the star, but it's top heavy. The part that is green and is suppose to attach the star to the top of the tree it just doesn't work and the star falls over. Thankfully there's like a wooden dowel or something under the green plastic part and I was adle to wrap the top of my fake tree around that and got it to sit on top of the tree. Obviously this won't work for a real tree and wanted to post a review of that aspect. I really liked the attention to detail of making the cord brown though so it nicely blends into the "grapevine" look of the star. Also the cord is like 6 feet long so I was able to plug it in at the bottom of the tree since I didn't have a plug for it at the top of the tree. The star itself is very nice and well made.

Katie: This was exactly what I was wanted for my rustic theme Christmas tree. It looks great. Just be aware, as others have said in their reviews, it is heavy and the top branch of an artificial tree won't hold it up. We took a wooden dowel, painted it green, and zip tied it to the top branch. That holds it up just fine. The only other thing is the cord is really long, so if you are just plugging it into the light strand you end up with a big wad of extra cord to hide. Not a big deal.

Sandra D.Sandra D.: I like this star tree topper. We had to do a little finagling to get it to stand up straight. The top branches of our faux tree could not support the weight of the star and it kept tipping over. So we attached a dark colored dowel to the center pole of the tree with a couple of black zip ties and left just enough sticking up to sit the star on. Worked like a charm! Some reviewers said they thought the star was too small. This is a 10 foot tree and I think the size of the star is fine. We had just finished the tree setup a few minutes before I took this picture, so no decorations yet, but I think this star is a great start! I’m pleased with this purchase.

Gabriella: I love how it’s made! Rustic..not enough lighting in it to my liking. It should be brighter to show of the whole concept! I found it to expensive after I received it based on how it’s put together.

I want to some day make an iconic Christmas film and I have the best idea! Christmas is the time to inhabit the hopes and dreams of those around you. I love the act of gift giving, not as a transfer of wealth but as a testament of closeness. You need to really know someone, especially an adult, to get them something they need or want. I feel it’s a worthy creative and empathetic exercise, even if it means you fail sometimes. When I was a kid, holidays were an oasis from familial troubles. My grandparents gave me refuge and are largely to blame for my better attributes. It is this well that I keep returning to this holiday with such joy, even when it’s occasionally almost ceremonial. I really really want to make cookies this year. It seems silly. I hate sweets. I miss my Grandma and this gorgeous holiday we used to share together. Please my friends love one another this Christmas. Love as much as you can afford.
