John Newman: Its lovely to look at but it will take very strong winds to make it turn .I have had it now for over to weeks and yet to see it move .

Steve V.: I bought this as a gift for my wife. A few blades were a bit wonky out of the box. It was easy to assemble but one side didn’t spin as well as the other. I applied some lithium grease to the “friction areas” without much improvement. Then I started giving each blade a gentle twist, working my way around until I had it balanced. It took a little while but it’s been working great ever since. Last summer it started to lean so I drove a sturdier pipe into the ground and inserted the original post into the pipe. Problem solved. Sounds like a lot of trouble but I’ve seen the prices of similar products. It was well worth the price + adjustments. I’d buy it again.

Glen M: Had to bend some blades, and add weights (dimes) to multiple blades balance the weight before it would spin easily. I also painted it with multiple clear coats after reading some had paint pealing issues, so far so good. Was a deal of the day purchase.

Gary A. Goski: As others have posted, this spinner does not work. It "IS" a ball bearing spinner, but terribly out of balance and the part that spins to find wind direction needs work. I am a mechanic and fairly anal, so I am "going to make it work", but for normal people this would be a waste of money. I also bought the "Jupiter" spinner from the same company and it works and looks amazing. I would definitely recommend it. This one not so much. The concept is good, it just needs some more engineering.
UPDATE
Ok, I originally rated two stars, but upped it to three. I balanced both wheels and now it seems to be working "ok". One of the blades took a lot of weight considering how small it is. IT SHOULD COME FROM THE SELLER BALANCED. Especially since it cost $70. I wish I could back charge them for time spent, like we do at my job for fixing defective purchased products.

Another update.
Upped the rating from 3 to 4.
I bought some 1/2" diameter x 1/8" thick Neodymium Rare Earth magnets. This did the trick to balance it. Now it works in the slightest breeze. The manufacturer should supply these with instructions. It only took around 5 total...
