One time I had a hard time pulling out the bottom piece after brewing and it was stuck. The carafe broke while trying to remove it. You can get a new one direct from Presto web site.

Jorge Abelardo Rodriguez: El sabor es bueno pero queda muy opaco. Intenté filtrarlo y aún así queda brumoso. Para algo rápido sin necesidad de presentación está bien, pero si te gusta servir algo estético no te va a servir.

Brycilious Schulzilla: This product has already more than paid for itself in the money I’ve saved buying cold brew for the store and gets used daily! It’s a near perfect product and I think it’s a great deal - especially if you can purchase it while its on sale (though I think it’s worth full retail price). It’s also a blast for kids to watch! A few times I’ve put water in in and had it start spinning at a lower speed and then put food coloring in just to watch it spin around with my kiddos, haha
A few notes about the project:
- The pitcher has a little wiggle room in the base, so sometimes you need to adjust it a little bit before using it. It also seems realllly sensitive to there being any dust or drops of water between the pitcher and the base. Easy fix.
- The lid portion of the plunger doesn’t have a relief cut into it for pouring the coffee, so you have to pick it up some (I usually tilt it back) or else it makes a mess.
A few things I’ve learned about the coffee and the making of:
- 20 minutes is about the perfect amount of time for the coffee to be spinning (followed by the 5 minutes rest time). Longer and the coffee is bitter, shorter and it’s not strong...

Anon: Used Peets Major Dickason. 30 minutes. Brews horribly weak cold brew, and the agitation has a delightful side effect of suspending fine coffee particles in the water. You're basically drinking a coffee sludge that looks like tea but has the bitterness of a fine dark roast they burned to cover up their sins. Tried to filter it, and it immediately blocked the filter. I'm not kidding. I poured it in the paper filter, a few teaspoons when through, and then it completely stopped.
We even saved some and put it in the fridge. After 24 hours, some of it settled to form a black paste on the bottom of the container. It filtered with some hesitancy.
No thanks. I don't want to wait 24 hours for the sludge to settle, so I can filter out the rest.
I'm literally digging through the trash to try and find all the packing materials to send this back.
Complete garbage. Do not buy. While the 24 hour wait of cold brew is a bummer. The 2 minutes of prep, and the lack of fine sludge in your coffee are vastly preferable.

ANDREWANDREW: I will start out by saying that I've been making my own cold brew for approximately 2 years now. Prior to this, I was "wasting" a lot of money buying cold brew on a nearly daily basis. I love a cold glass of cold brew in the summer after dinner. It's usually my dessert! I also love the taste of coffee, and I only add a little milk (sometimes half/half) to my cold brew, no sweetener.
I have been more than happy with my County Line Mason Jar cold brew maker. I've had it for two years and never once had coffee grounds in my finish product. It makes an extremely strong cold brew. Only downfall is the 14 plus hours to make it! There have been many of nights that I wanted to kick myself for forgetting to make it when it ran out! Enter the "Dorothy"! What a fantastic idea, I thought. I wondered if it would work. I read through the reviews, and depending on what you want to believe, some say yes, other said no. Here is MY opinion after using this for about a month now.
It does work! I can say that what I've made in this rapid brewer has tasted fantastic, and I have not had any grounds in my finished product (although it can be a bit cloudy/silt). I think that silt is a...

Jarrod: This has leveled up our coffee game to brick and mortar levels. After sampling different roasts and brands of coffees we have found the magic combo. I have purchased several “cold brew makers” and they may as well just stop selling the others. I will say, I don’t think the recommended times are long enough. I run mine for 45 minutes every night and have a perfect strength and flavorful coffee ready every morning.
