Breville BFP820BAL Sous Chef 16-Cup Food Processor with Peel & Dice Functionality

Amazon Customer: Just got it today. Because I was skeptical, I immediately tried peeling potatoes - did a nice job, just a few touch-ups to finish them off, 6 potatoes in 30 seconds. Dicing: works like a charm to my surprise! French fries disk: nice cut, but perhaps a tad small for my liking. Julienne disk did a very nice job. All these are very effective! A little disappointed that not all parts go in the dishwasher, but I guess nothing's perfect... All in all, very happy so far!

Beth A: I've had a food processor since shortly after they were introduced in the US, and immediately fell in love with the ease and speed of all the tasks it could handle. I also found myself making things I had been avoiding because I wasn't very good at them (pastry dough, I'm looking at you). That basic food processor, then the one which replaced it on a recall by the manufacturer, have been with me for nearly half a century. Although it was far from perfect, I never found one which effectively addressed its faults, nor which added features I considered useful – until I allowed myself to look at this food processor after buying another Breville countertop appliance. Then, although I frankly didn't want to spend this much, I couldn't get it off my mind. I've been dehydrating many foods to reduce food waste, and also to take advantage of buying in season, with the result that I've been doing lots of slicing, dicing, shredding, and chopping. As a result, I was going through mandolins and safety gloves fast enough that I could see that wasn't a cost effective solution for me; plus, it takes more effort, and is considerably more time consuming.

Let Me Say This:: I recently purchased the Breville BFP820BAL The Sous Chef Peel and Dice Food Processor, and I have to say, it has exceeded all of my expectations. This machine is a game-changer in the kitchen and has made food prep so much easier and more efficient.

Alejandro Flores: Although it may seem expensive, the motor is extremely capable of handling most tasks. It comes with tons of attachments and they all work very well. It might sound obvious, but please be careful handling the blades, it is very easy to make a mistake during cleaning.

It's not perfect, and here are some minor annoyances. I will make some comparisons, mostly to the equivalent Cuisinart model (to me this is the Elite Model current as of 2020).

You can't take the top of the container off and flip it over (otherwise the chute pusher, etc. falls out). You can flip over the Cuisinart and things stay attached. If you don't flip it over, everything drips all over the counter, so I put a plate or something to catch anything that drips. To me it just seems normal to take the top of the container off and at least lay it at an angle on it's side, and everything will leak all over the place. The Cuisinart wins here.

When you pour items out of the container, the blades don't always stay attached, as with the Cuisinart, so you need to manually remove the blade or be cautious to keep it in place with the opposite hand while you pour. Of course you could...

Lorena: Aún no pruebo todos los discos, pero hasta el momento ha trabajado muy bien. El disco para cubos es maravilloso, le toma segundos cortar papas, zanahorias, calabazas. El pequeño bowl sirve muy bien para picar cantidades pequeñas de cebolla y ajos que se usan frecuentemente en las recetas. Trato de preparar por adelantado para la semana, así que si me es muy útil.

javamuse: I've been a fan of Breville appliances for a long time (owned 4 of them even before this one) and this one doesn't disappoint. Expensive, but they last forever and then are just getting started, so well worth the investment.

This one is no exception: well-conceived, reasonably small footprint, a bit noisy but not unreasonable, and it slices and dices so fast it seems almost a waste of time to take it out until you figure how long a given job would take otherwise! So far I've used it for mayonnaise, sauces, vegetables, creamed soups, almond milk - it just does it all, way faster than you can get the ingredients cleaned and fed in there. I generally don't bother cleaning the bowl between steps, especially if it's for the same dish, but it's quick to rinse, and you could always order an extra bowl or two if you have more storage space than rinsing time; the staff at Breville is exceptionally helpful.

When you are using the slicing feature, you have to be a bit careful to keep things upright or they get caught under the cover, and you get big flat lengthwise slices sitting on top of the blade instead of a cross-section slices inside the bowl. That...
