Xoey: Summary: Ever since I got an epilator, it's my go-to hair removal technique and I love how long I stay hair-free and how eco-friendly it is!
This is my second Braun epilator, and I absolutely love it (I had the first one for 3 years before I lost it when travelling).
Pros:
+ The charge lasts forever (I only usually charge it after quite a few full-body uses!)
+ Waterproof makes it so much better, a hot shower or bath really opens up your pores and it makes the process a lot less painful
+ All the accessories are great, can use it on basically any area (depending on pain tolerance and thickness of hair)
+ The grip on hair is incredible, catches on the smallest hairs and usually it gets all the hairs in 1-3 passes depending on the amount of hair you have
+ Perfect for legs, pits and even bikini area, and the shaver does a great job at trimming things down first
+ Two speeds lets you warm up to the sensation before going full force
+ Eco-friendly: think of all the shavers you're throwing away and all that plastic! This thing will last you forever (if you don't lose it)
+ The areas stay hair-free for a long time! (I only need to do this every 3-4...

Tp: Works great ! . I had a Remington epilator... Bought it about 8 years ago, and still works today.
Reasons you should switch from shaving with a razor to an epilator ( even though I know it hurts the first time you use it)
1- save on cost of razors.
2- if you have sensitive skin, this requires no shaving gel with ingredients that irritate
3- save on cost of razors ( yes I know I wrote this twice... But if this epilator lasts as long as my 1st one, then it need to be noted twice.)
4- no razor burn.
5- personal experience ; take it from me ... I used the epilator for my legs and armpits and bikini line for 2 years... Then I got busy with university and didn't want to take the extra few minutes using the epilator once every other week.
Instead, I used a razor for the 4 years of my university life. After dealing with razor burn, the itching, the cost of the blades ( 3 packs for like 35$, for decent razors because I found that the bic razors caused more skin irritations than smoothness) ... My leg hair got so thick and would grow so quickly. God forbid I go to the gym wearing shorts after 2 days of not shaving without feeling self conscious.
So I decided...

Amazon Customer: I have extremely dark, corse facial hair on my face. My hair growth is also very fast. I would shave in the morning and within 2 hrs I would be able to feel the hair on my chin start to grow. I shaved EVERYDAY. That's how fast my hair grew.
I was frustrated and it was also embarrassing to see black dots all over my face. However, since I bought this product I have had an easier life. No more shaving, no more stubbles, no more hassel everyday. I feel more confident because I don't have the black dots on my chin that grows into a beard overnight.
When I first got the product I was quite disappointed because it didn't seem to work well. I was sad and frustrated and wanted to return the product right away. But then I gave it a 2nd shot, then a 3rd, and then a 4th and I was finally able to figure out how to remove the hair successfully.
It doesn't get the fuzzy hair much but it's great for corse hair. You also need to understand that the hair has to be a certain length for the tweezers to be able to get a grip on it. So do not be disappointed, just try again after a day or two. It is painful. Especially if u r using it under your arms, face, bikini line but, u get...

Kristin L: Works pretty well, but not perfectly. As a long-time waxer, I bought this expecting a cleaner, more portable solution. That's exactly what I got. It's easy to use, and easy to clean. Since I'm used to pulling hair out by the roots, the experience has been pain-free; though I can imagine it would not be so for people that are used to shaving.
I bought this in anticipation of an eight-week summer trip, where I knew I wouldn't want to be bothered searching for time and supplies to wax. I tried it out the day it arrived, and was amazed at how easy it was to use. A benefit that I hadn't anticipated is that now I can continue an interrupted epilating job whenever I need to, without my old fear of irritating sensitive skin with repeatedly waxing.
Cons: It's very, very loud. I can't use it at night without fear of waking my kids.
And the shaver head is awful. I hadn't planned to ever use the shaver head, but since I don't yet have the courage to epilate my underarms, I thought I'd give it a try, rather than packing a separate razor. I tried it five or six times. Each time, I had to go over the area quite a few times before it would actually cut any hair. I had awful skin...

buzzybee: Been using this for 3 months and I love it!
So, for anyone who has not used an epilator [ever] before be prepared it will hurt initially - A LOT!
Why I bought this?
I got sick and tired of shaving and getting all these stubbly ugly growing hairs. I figured with this I wouldn't have to shave every single day during the Summer. This also helped the hairs to grow back a lot finer looking so even if I didn't use this for a couple days [and the hairs grew back] it's not noticable!
My first use was on my underarms and I was tearing as I was using it. It was pretty painful but it was so worth it because no more stubbly, dark underarms! The 2nd time using it wasn't so bad afterwards when they grow back. 3rd and after kinda just stayed feeling the same - not that bad. There are certain times where it doesn't hurt and I thought I got use to it, but then the next time it would hurt again. I think it has to do with hormone fluctuation; they do say not to do it near your period... As far as using for the legs, be prepared to epilate EVERYDAY for almost a month. Since I use to shave, they grow all random. I called it my "transitioning phase" because they grow back at...

Jamie: I've been using this epilator for over half a year now. Overall I like it compared to other hair removal methods. You don't get any stubble like when you shave, and razor burn is not a concern. Like waxing, it's obviously more painful than shaving since you're plucking hair by the root. Still, I prefer this over waxing because waxing is a) messier and b) costs more in the long run.
Ultimately, whether you invest in an epilator or not is dependent on what type of hair removal you're looking for. If you're only doing legs, then I think the pain is easily tolerable for the vast majority of the population. It's about a 1/10 or 2/10 on the pain scale. The trick is to move the epilator fairly slowly (slower than in epilator ads) and to press firmly on taut skin so your skin doesn't get pinched.
If you're looking to epilate little facial whiskers, then it hurts a lot more and the ominous whirling sound is enough to put you off pressing it against your face. I admit I couldn't press the epilator firmly enough against my face to remove any facial hair, and I don't plan on ever doing it.
The shaver head or trimmer attachment can be used for armpits. Epilating them is...

G. D. Gauss: I have a history of immense trouble removing my leg hair. Because of horrific itching that leaves my legs bloody and bruised I can't shave. This has been going on since I was a teenager and I've tried literally everything but nothing relieves the itching. I'm very pale with thick, dark hair so even if I could shave it still leaves an instant five o'clock shadow no matter how close the shave is. As you can imagine this has left me trying a lot of different alternatives over the years.
Hair removal creams have never worked for some reason. I think my hair is just too thick and strong. Laser hair removal and wax were too expensive and I couldn't afford to keep them up (however I still wax my underarms which works great for me). For a long time I was at my wit's end and just gave up, letting my leg hair grow and not caring who saw it. I'm a bit of an androgynous woman anyway so it wasn't a big deal to me.
A bit after that I started up my acting career and unfortunately people want women on television to have hairless legs (which I think is bull but that's a different rant entirely) so I had to go back to searching for a solution.
I'd heard people talk about...
