Arby: I have used Chemi=Pur for years, previously in my saltwater aquariums and now in the freshwater aquariums that my child and I have. It is an excellent product that does everything it says it does.

soulpatch: Throw this into my FX6 and my water appears to disappear in the tank it gets so clear. I have used Purigen for years and recently switched to Chemi Pure. I am on my fourth unit at this point. It burns through faster then Purigen and is not refreshable BUT it does a better job cleaning the water. I know the packaging says it removes CO2 from the water and many planted tank guys have been concerned to use this. I have a heavily planted tank and have not had issues EXCEPT with keeping some of my suppliment levels. My iron goes away fairly quickly now. I have resorted to a few tabs on top of my liquid iron to compensate. Otherwise I have had no issues and have not had to get a CO2 bubbler like I thought at first.
While I wish this lasted longer the benefits I get in the tank are worth while. I have spent tons of money on filters, fish, plants, lighting, aquascaping, ect but this "cheap" unit allows me to see all of my hard spent money in much clearer fashion. My fish seem healthier and the colors pop much better. I have made the switch to this and will NOT be going back.
