Lisa Auckland: Very pleased with the quality of this. Doesn’t clog up like others I’ve had. Scissors and comb very useful, specially for one of my BT’s that won’t have clippers near her face or chest. Dropped one point only because I find putting the guard combs on slightly tricky. But I’ll get the hang of it!

Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: BOTTOM LINE: It’s way too easy to hurt your dog accidentally with these clippers, start with another brand. Experienced groomers only (and they wouldn’t use this). I recommend Oster brand for beginners!! It’s easy for the adjustable blade to slip to a different length while grooming, which is why my dog was injured. I also tested it out on my arm and it causes razor burn in some areas even when on a longer blade setting. All in all it’s just way too easy to hurt your pet, NOT WORTH IT!

I don’t think this product is a bad product necessarily, however I think you need to be EXTREMELY careful with it, especially when not using the guards (which were kind of hard to use because hair gets stuck in them and does not shave off easily). I had experience with Oster Lithium Ion green and white clippers and have never ever cut or scraped my dogs skin with it and I have used it always on the #10 blade which is the safest blade to use when needing to go as short as possible for hygienic areas and areas that might cut easily like leg creases or in between paw pads. Hooper: Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the issues I had with the head sorted and I must stress that has nothing to do with the seller. It is merely a decision I made to stop pursuing help.

This shaver worked great the couple of times I got to use it. Its quiet, light, very very sharp and cuts through the thickest fur like butter.

I'd still be using it if I could get the head back on. However, the first time I took it off to clean it, it just fell apart.

Even after following instructions and getting multiple peoples help; the thing would not stay on properly. Resulting in the blades not moving correctly up and down or side to side.

If I can figure out what head to buy as a replacement, I may keep using it, and for the price, I definitely think it is worth giving a go.

1. instruction e-book
Before I received the trimmer, the company emailed an e-book that I didn't know I needed. I skimmed it when it was sent, but promptly forgot what I read. My main take-away: Trim WITH the grain (the growth) of the fur. Opposite of a (human) boy's haircut.
2. quiet (at least to my standards)
My reactive dog was uneasy at first but settled down within 5-10 min. And certainly quieter than my really old Wahl (human) clipper.
3. easy to use
Buttons respond to soft-touch.
4. user-friendly indicators
Light bars on the handle indicate the battery level. Very helpful to know when I need to charge.
5. battery has long life
My dog's large curls and waves made the going slower (see in Cons below), to the tune of 1 hour for this newbie and her 30 lb, hairy dog. I hope this will shorten up in the future as I get better at this, but the point being the trimmer used very little of the battery life considering. The 80% battery remaining light was still on at the end, which is where I started.

As other reviews noted, the turbo does seem to help with some thicker patches, but for the most part, I didn't use it. I didn't use it...
