Dfisher: I struck and struck and struck but because there were no instructions, I did not know you needed to start it with lighter fluid first, I went back online and found the information I needed so I can give these as a gift and let them know what they need to do.

Doug: I have used , and sold, a lot of different fire starters. This is one of the harder one to get to light. It is the ferro rod; it is hard to get it to spark. Once lit, no problems. It seems to hold the lighter fluid well.

Amazon Customer: The product works great. The only thing I did not like was there was no instruction on how to use the item and if there was we would have known that we need fuel to get the flint to work. We can find the how to on YouTube

Jimmy S: Works well uses lighter fuel, I use zippo lighter fluid works well. A lot of people who bought this should learn how a lighter works before they buy it. Came with an extra wick and 2 seals only thing I didn’t like was it came a little scratched, packaging is very cheap literally a zip lock bag.

david hollenberg: Works well but the truck to lighting it is to go slowly. If you still day you will create a lot of sparks but the wick will not light.

NW53: The item was delayed over a month and was supposed to be a gift. It doesn’t work and just arrived 5 days ago but I’m not able to return it. I wouldn’t purchase again from this seller due to a faulty product and unreasonable return window. This is my first poor experience purchasing on Amazon and hopefully won’t happen again.

Tiana MacFarlane: This product was garbage!! Only lit once and the fibres burnt off the end making it only a flint producing just a spark. Don't waste your money on this product. And it took 3 months to ship!!

The Dude: My review headline sums up most of what I like about this "match." That is to say that it makes a good size flame of approx. 2.5". It has a threaded cap with a rubber O ring to seal in fuel and keep water out. I can get it to light with one or sometimes two strikes of the steel now that I have my technique down.

At first it took me a bit to figure out how to make it ignite easily. What works for other may vary, but what I found to work best is to set the flat side of the steel against the strike track, angle it about 75-80 deg. off the track (or 10-15 deg. from the perpendicular), apply moderately firm pressure while dragging the steel at a medium to fast speed. YMMV.

Another point is you need give the fuel time to soak into the wick when filling for the 1st time, or anytime the fuel has been depleted I suppose. I gave it 5 minutes and that was enough. I imagine the amount of fuel you can fit in the case/wick should allow for quite a number of uses without having to add more fuel.

My review here is based on initial testing as it just came in the mail the same day I write this. The conditions I tested it under were as...

FuzzyKitten: Item worked great and as described to light but 1 rubber gasket, bullet end of lighter, would not seal.
I replaced both gaskets as they appeared too thin for a proper seal and no more leaks.
Would have gotten 5 stars if hasket had not allowed leak.
It is very easy to light and I have no clue how some people do videos on these where they appear to struggle to light the bullet lighter or make an excuse that it takes quite a few strikes to get the new ferrocerium coating off first. Mine first lighted on 3rd stike and then 1st or 2nd afterwards. May be type brand of strike rod used by this company.
Very good quality except for gaskets too thin, could screw the bullet down with litle to no gasket compression.
My advice, get the lighter but replace the gaskets with ones that work well.
