Only complaint t is that sometimes when set to 15 seconds it will run closer to 20 seconds. Turning the dial all the way in each direction several times seems to have cleared it up, but I expected better for the first month of operation.

Jen: Even though we were trying the same thing over and over, at first this was not working. Then, all of a sudden, everything clicked in right, and it's working great now!! Tried it a few times, and it's grinding just fine! Not too loud, and no grounds shooting out anywhere. I'll need to learn how to adjust the grinds more, but so far so good.
Previous: The instructions are terrible, with almost no detail, so it's hard to troubleshoot. Took it out of the box and followed the vague instructions. I cannot get the female part to sit correctly--I think. The silicone surrounding the actual metal burr is soft, so if I force it, I'm worried I'll break it off. When the female part appears to be seated, it's not a tight fit, so I don't know if it will hold. Then, when I try to put the bean container on, it will not turn in either direction. It's just too tight or something is not seating correctly. The lid is supposed to have a seal but this one does not, so it is loose and only balances on top. There must be a lock that allows grinding when all parts are in position, but I cannot get to that point, so it currently appears that the buttons aren't working right. I must have gotten a lemon,...

Joe wiebe: the bodum coffee grinder came dirty with grounds , and with the interior guard in the cone broken completely off of the cone. we tried to grind some beans just to hear the noise level of the grinder and it sounds great. the small on switch button stuck and wouldn’t come out without prying it back out . sadly we have to return this grinder . hoping for better luck next time !

かよ: 毎日、朝手動でミルを引いてました。
デザインがおしゃれ、時短を兼ねての購入です。粉が均一で、コーヒーも美味しくなりました。粉は飛び散りますが、仕方ないかなと思ってます。

Nik: This may have been an AMZN Warehouse buy, I got it for about $CDN 70. My friend who knows coffee said a proper home grinder costs hundreds. This unit is okay. French Press requires a coarse grind but when I set the selector to the French Press picture (the coarsest grind available) I get a grind that's way coarser than what I get from my local high-end coffee shop. I backed it off quite a bit to get the same grind. Also, if you grind some beans into the provided cup and then make your coffee, be careful not to bump the machine because a bunch of ground coffee will spill out of the grind chamber and require a cleanup. For my purposes this machine is fine as long as it lasts a couple of year. Noise is not an issue, and no one shoudl expect one of these machines to be quiet at this price.

Navy Blue: This is a fine, but messy burr grinder. I question whether it is worth using everytime I use it. I purchased this grinder approximately six months ago for use with a french press. It grinds the coffee nicely, it is the mess and the clean up I have a problem with. It is so aggravating the way the coffee sticks to the glass and everywhere. I feel like I waste so much coffee as a result. I had no idea about cofee grind static issues before this grinder. Boo!
February 2020: my original review was made in February 2017 and my bodum burr grinder lasted exactly three years before it kicked the can. I used it approximately every two to three weeks. I originally bought the white and this time I chose red simply because it was the least expensive. That was also how I chose the original white one. The red one is clearly not as good quality as the white one from a cosmetic point of view. The silicone looks cheaper, more like dollarama quality. The cord is less long. I know this because I use my grinder in the same spot on the counter and the cord no longer reaches the outlet. I measured and it's 2.5 inches shorter. I'd like to hope the most important part, the motor, is better quality....

Yuniverse: Update (07/08/2014)
I have been using this grinder everyday for two years and it hasn't missed a beat. I am careful not to over-run it by waiting between grinding after 20 second-runs. It takes time to pull espresso, so this isn't much of a problem. I highly recommend this grinder if you can buy it for less than $100.
*************ORIGINAL REVIEW****************
BACKGROUND:(you can skip to pros and cons if you'd like)
I've only been drinking coffee for the last 7 years or so, but being in Seattle, I've come to appreciate truly great coffees. Starbucks isn't too bad, it's not one of the better ones around here.
Wanting to enjoy good cup of coffee anytime at home, I began the search for the tools. I didn't want to go all they way and spend couple of grand to make espresso, nor even couple of hundreds of dollars. I couldn't afford them and my wife would never approve of it anyhow. So, I've tried drip coffee, french-press, Aero-press, but settled on Bialetti 6800 Moka Express 6-Cup Stovetop Espresso Maker for making a good cup of coffee. Meanwhile, I've also tried out some of the best rated coffee and settled upon Jammin' Java Coffee...

Michael J. Holmdahl: I did several days worth of research on grinders before I landed on this one. I got this for around $80 during the Cyber Monday deals, and it has exceeded my expectations and hopes so far.
Most grinders at or around this price point have motors that sound like vacuums, have poorly placed or inaccessible burrs, or just flat burrs. This grinder has everything that those grinders do not.
Granted, it’s not going to compete with something even $50 to $100 more expensive, but when I got it for $80 it was right in the sweet spot for price.
This grinder has a nice interface for the stepless courseness selector. It was able to grind fine enough, (2 steps below finest) and actually finer than my espresso machine could handle. My machine cannot get up to professional pressure though, so I would go finer if possible.
When grinding for espresso, to the naked eye I noticed no particle inconsistency and no prevailing fines, which pleased me, and the puck turned out really well before and after pulling a shot. I noticed a lot more inconsistency when I ground for a pour over. I’d like to look closer at the grounds with a photo when grinding for espresso next...
