So far installing my first hinge, broke 3 screws off in a piece of white oak. I predrilled the holes because I knew the wood is a hardwood. I broke 2 screw heads off, drilled a 3rd hole with a larger bit and broke a 3rd screw off. So i wound up getting some better quality screws. The hinges seem to be okay so far, but I do have some concerns about longevity.
My suggestion is if you're using with hard woods perhaps get some better screws, and it might be a good idea on softer woods or materials to use a hand screwdriver.
