VN.: You can't set the timer or temperature, but it DOESN'T matter. You get crispy waffles just like the hotels' ones. Just cook them for 4 minutes first after you put the batter and follow the 10 sec instructions before rotation (READ THE INSTRUCTIONS) and see if you like them. Adjust the time you let your waffles cook depending on how you want them. For me it is 4 min each set of two waffles. Price is unbeatable for such perfect results. And the double waffle is just a plus, specially helpful for big families. Also, I found out that the must inexpensive Waffle Mix works just perfect! No need to add eggs, or oil or anything. I am buying the Great Value Belgian waffle mix. I am very grateful I found this machine. Never thought I would within my limited price range. I know many people say they don't write reviews... well that is me... hope you believe me and hope you find this helpful. Give it a try but don't forget to read the very simple instructions. If you don't like it, return it. Hope you'll all find what you are looking for :)))))

Art Brown: my other waffle maker died half way though a large amount of doe. It arrived in 3.5 hours and I finished my doe. they turned out great. it would be nice to have a timer or a light or alarm sound when its done. I give they 7-8 min. to done

Jareau: Bought this some time ago, forgot to leave a review. Which means now this review comes in after owning it for quote some time.

Pros: Easy to use. From zero, time to full warm-up is reasonable. Double sided is important for making lots of waffles. After first batch, it warms back up within a reasonable amount of time. Waffle size is perfect.

Cons: cooking plates don't come out, making cleaning it a chore - sponge it down, hold it sideways under the faucet to rinse, hoping to not get water in any sensitive areas. Does not have a cooking timer, I use Google Home to set my timer. Green/Red temperature light works just fine.

Overall, there's enough technology in the world that basic things like cooking timer, digital temperature readouts, dings, and pull-out cooking plates should be standard these days. This unit feels like it was designed in the 1970's.

I'm happy enough with it, but really, there's lots of basic technology left to be desired here...

Michael Aston: I was replacing a National Presto that burned out after about 9 years of loyal service, so I'm mostly comparing to it. This iron seems less powerful, it takes twice as long to cook, but cooks twice as many waffles(though slightly smaller). I was hoping it would cook two waffles faster, our kids are hungry and there can be fights over who is next! I've also noticed an uneven cook pattern, it doesn't seem to heat evenly.
The thickness of the waffles isn't bad, but the thickness of the parts that join the quarters is very thin and the waffles easily break into 4, this is only a problem for 5 year olds who demand a whole waffle. Related to this problem is the pressure that is placed on the cooking waffle, its much higher than other waffle makers and results in a slightly denser, not tough, but slightly harder feeling waffle. Thats reduced if the lock is left off, but even still there is a noticeable difference. It cleans up well, as expected.
I probably would have got something else, but this will do the job.

GREGORY A FLYNN CDGREGORY A FLYNN CD: As soon as I received this item, I couldn't wait to try it. Having a history of preparing waffles over the years, everyone warned me that a waffle maker would be difficult to use if you had a cooking capability of two at a time.
After following the instructions I was happy to sit down to great looking and great tasting waffles.

K. ChanK. Chan: After nearly a decade of faithful use, my Villaware Uno Waffle Maker with interchangeable heart and Belgian waffle plates finally broke. It was a sad day for our household, but we had to move on and look for another waffle iron as Villaware no longer makes that particular iron. After some searching, we finally settled on the B&D Double Flip Waffle Maker. While I loved my Villaware, the B&D waffle iron is quickly filling that empty space in both my heart and stomach.

The Double Flip Waffle Maker heats up quickly, is beautifully nonstick, and get this - it makes TWO waffles at ONE time! Now, instead of having to split a waffle for my kids to share while I heat up a second one for them to share again so they would have a full waffle to eat each, I can heat up two waffles, have them eat their breakfasts at the same time without having to break anything in half, and have enough time to make an actually waffle for both me and my husband. This waffle maker was a breakfast game changer for our family! While this iron lacks a temperature control that my old waffle iron had, I've discovered over the years that I actually left the temp at the same spot...

SD Gal: I had my last Belgian waffle maker forever, but the handle finally broke off so it was hard to open without burning my hands. I did a lot of research and read a lot of Amazon reviews before finally settling on this one. It’s a basic, no-frills model, but I wasn’t looking for anything fancy. I’ve had pretty good luck with other Black and Decker products, and the fact that it can make two waffles at the same time is a big plus.

The plates on this one are really deep, which is great because we love loading up our waffles with fruit and nuts. It’s very sturdy and it locks nicely in place when flipping from one side to the other. There isn’t an on/off switch, so when you plug it in, it’s on, and you can see the red power indicator light. You just spray a little cooking oil on the surfaces, preheat until the green temperature-ready light comes on, and pour about ¾ cup of batter onto the center of the plate. Then close the lid, lock in place, wait ten seconds, and flip over. Just repeat on the other side if you’re making two waffles.

Directions say that the waffles are ready when the steaming subsides at about 3-4 minutes. I find that 6...
