MartaPrzyby: This makes about 2-2.5 larger cups of coffee. The machine says "5 cups".... but they would be really small (think smaller than a tall black coffee at Starbucks).

Easy to clean. Holds the coffee warm when you leave the machine on. Good coffee flavor.

Marina P.: I honestly don't know how this coffee maker got so many acceptable reviews! I ordered it because I was in need of a small, basic machine and there were enough decent reviews that I figured that it couldn't be a horrible product. Boy was I ever wrong! I have had so many problems with this machine since the beginning I don't even know where to begin. First of all, the "sneak a cup" pause feature is complete BS and doesn't work at all. When you remove the carafe to pour a cup before it is finished brewing, it just keeps brewing and immediately starts dripping coffee all over the hotplate element. Fine. A pain in the butt, but I could have lived with that if everything else was okay. Not!!!

Not only can you not "sneak" a cup before it has finished brewing, you cannot even dare pour yourself a cup when it has supposedly FINISHED brewing. Even when done, as soon as you remove the carafe, the coffee keeps leaking all over the hotplate. It creates a big mess that you have to wipe up and the coffee sticks to the element and cooks on it making it hard to clean up. The only way to avoid this mess is to wait more than 1/2 an hour to dare to pour your first cup of coffee, thereby...

Does what it is intended to do - brew a cup of coffee! Pour the water, pop in your filter and coffee, click the on button - easy peezy.

Good to make coffee for 2 people, not the fastest but by the time I finish brushing my teeth and toasting my breakfast, it's ready so I don't mind.

Saw some reviews about making a small cup of coffee... that's because we all drink out of giant mugs now 😅 my Starbucks "You Are Here" collection mug is equivalent to 3 cups of coffee on this machine (same as other drip machines I've used).

No auto shut off from what I've seen. If there is one it's definitely beyond an hour or two.

It has the sneak a cup feature, which does work but you just need to pull it forward first so it releases the trigger, and after half a second then pull the carafe out. That will ensure you don't get remaining drips that started before you pulled the carafe onto the warmer plate.

I do think this was overpriced when I purchased it ($35 CAD) but it seems nothing can be saved from inflation lol.

I buy the Melitta small (2-5 cup)...

Mr Breeze: I've had a couple 4 or 5 cup coffee makers over the years. The sub $15 Walmart brand sucked as one might suspect, never got the water hot enough. I had one of the expensive Japanese brands (Ziroshi or something?) and that made a good coffee. i could trust the water would get hot enough for proper extraction. But the bottom rusted out after a year or two. Not the hot plate where most of them rust out, but the actual bottom plate! I'm sorry, but for that kind of money?! I'm not going back. I like good coffee, but I haven't crossed over to coffee snob. At least not yet!

This B&D coffee maker got good reviews and it was priced right. Closer in price to the cheap Walmart brand than the Japanese brand, but as long as i could trust it to heat the water enough and be consistent about it, I'd be happy. And I am happy. I've had it for a few months now and it has never failed to heat the water perfectly for good extraction.

I'm also very impressed with the little things B&D had built into it that has significantly increased the bang-for-the-buck in my opinion. The hot plate has a design I have not seen before where it's separate from the sides that are nice and high so...

Aleks: Honestly for an inexpensive coffee maker I'm very impressed. In my area we have very hard water and I've replaced too many other coffee machines. I figured this one was inexpensive so I wouldn't feel bad if it went. However, all of my expectations were completely surpassed. This is the longest lastly coffee maker that I've owned (previously owned kcup style coffee makers) so granted I wouldn't be able to directly compare to other drip coffee makers.

This unit is easy to use and my favorite part is how simple it is to clean without having to buy expensive solutions or go through a daylong process. I always buy freshly roasted beans and grind them right before brewing and the results have been excellent. My other method is making pour overs and this brewer doesn't quite get to that standard but it makes up for it in ease of use.

One other thing to mention is that a lot of people that own coffee makers with a heating plate complain about is leaving the coffee on the plate for a bit will give it a burnt taste. This is something I haven't experienced with this coffee maker. There were times where I've turned the machine on and forgot only to remember 20 minutes later and...

CH: 1/15/2021 - Update. This is the perfect, small coffeemaker if only it would last. First purchased this little pot in Oct. 2019. By Dec. 2020 it had died. It would not hold water in the resevoir. Thinking that was some sort of fluke and because I really liked the simplicity and size I bought another in Dec. 2020 which just died in Jan. 2021. The on/off switch completely "froze" and could not be moved at all. I decided to contact Black and Decker directly and was forwarded to another arm of their business Spectrum Home Appliances. After 3 emails and several requests from SHA regarding proof of purchase they are mailing me a new pot. I originallyand will continue to give it a 5 star rating because I love this pot and SHA customer service came through for me.

If you're looking for a small, simple coffeemaker look no further. Drip free pouring and the "sneak a cup" feature add to the perfectionism of this little pot. Simple on/off switch. Fits nicely into any corner under a cabinet. I have only washed it and the various parts on the top rack of the dishwasher and without heat dry. I used to buy the coffee pots with all the bells and whistles....
