BLACK+DECKER 40V MAX Cordless Chainsaw with 2.0-Ah Battery and Extra Battery Included

Discreet Shopper: We had a diseased peach tree in our yard that needed to be cut down. So, I bought this 40v chainsaw hoping that it would be powerful enough. The trunk was around 7" in diameter.

I am happy to say that this light, easy-to-use chainsaw was up for the task with power and battery to spare. I stalled it a couple of times by trying to force the cut, however, when I let off and used less pressure it worked great!

Light, powerful enough, easy to use, and cut the stump almost flush with the ground.

NOTE: You will need to add some bar and chain oil to the chainsaw before using it. It does not come with the oil.

TroyTroy: The media could not be loaded.  I bought this for my wife as she operates a farm and sometimes needs to make a fence post or cut an obstacle and she has a hard time starting my gas powered saw.
Out of the box it resembles a child's toy, which has me a bit nervous, but happy to say that it has impressive capabilities.
The battery lasts as long as the oil reservoir.
Overall happy with my purchase to this point.

emoze: 2nd purchase; tip - put on your want list as a "bare" tool & wait cuz the offered prices on these vary a lot; bought one of these 5 yrs ago, it's still going strong but getting a bit worn so i decide to get another just in case (new tool is cheaper than buying parts); i have multiple old B&D tools that use this 40v battery so it just makes sense to have a backup saw; OEM B&D batteries are no longer available but there is a huge supply of clones available online at competitive pricing that work quite well; battery life is amazing if you have at least a 3.0 amp battery; per other comments it does use a lot of oil, but that's just insurance imho: you will note poor cutting if you let it run dry; i have used this to cut sizeable dead oaks & even to cut roots in the ground (chains are cheap, so go to it; there are great online deals here on 12" chains ); it does not like to cut way out on the tip or 2/3 out so best to always use it as close to the motor section as possible (roots obviously a different matter)

Stepjam: Love it! I wouldn't try to cut down the mightiest tree in the forest with it, but for saplings and smaller branches (3-4 inches), it works great. Lightweight, compact, and easy to handle. Battery life is excellent. So much more pleasant to use and much quieter than my old gas saw. Even my wife could use this with no difficulty. Great product, recommended.

Amazon Customer: This Black & Decker electric chainsaw is much easier and safer to use than a gas powered one. It is safer because the chain stops as soon as you take your finger off the trigger, and because it is so much lighter. It cuts very well, with lots of power. The battery does not last long if you are doing heavy duty work, but it is more than adequate for smaller jobs around an acreage. I love not having to pull-start a gas motor; it is a relief after decades of fighting with gas powered saws. The silence of its operation is also very welcome. The one improvement needed is to make the chain oil reservoir larger. Overall a great product and highly recommended.

Cliente de Amazon: este producto ya lo había comprado con anterioridad y me agrado mucho, ya que es muy practico y potente, me dura bien la pila para lo que se realiza, la uso en un patio con varios arboles, lo único que como es de plástico, la persona que me ayuda a darles una limpieza, y la usa, aplico mucha palanca sobre la herramienta y está se venció, espero está me dure un poco más tomando en cuenta este cuidado por las piezas que son de plástico

Stone DogStone Dog: One thing I have to say right off is that this will not replace a gas chain saw. For bigger jobs, only a gas chain saw has the power and fuel capacity to complete a full-size tree felling and cutting up.

Having said that, this is an excellent saw for smaller jobs and I just love its ease of use. In my late 50s, I don't enjoy the fight to start a gas chain saw and this electric model is just fantastic! There's little vibration and little noise compared to a gas model. You slap the battery in and go! No fuss and no pulling the starter handle X times until start on a gas model. It's a joy to use.

AS you can see from the pics, I had a standing tree of about 10" which was probably a little bigger than I should have used it on, but this was a test after all. The second pic shows the tree lying on the ground. As you can see from the third pic, there was some leakage of oil over time I never really noticed until I looked down at my pants! The next two pics show the number of drums I cut on one battery charge while the last shows the diameter of the cuts I was making.

The battery life was actually good considering the thickness of the tree it had to...

Elizabeth Maloney: I was nicely surprised that I was able to handle this with no problem I'm a 55 year old woman and was able to cut much larger branches than I expected and even took out an old tree stump.

Debrett: All my B&D 40 volt cordless electric tools work exceptionally well. I'm really pleased with them. The chainsaw is easy to handle and has ample power. I'm a lightweight woman and have no hesitation recommending any of these tools. So far, this includes 40 volt lawn mower, hedge trimmer, and string weeder, as well as the chain saw.
