Bissell Zing Canister 2156A Bagless Vacuum Cleaner

customer x: After my first one blew the motor within days after the end of warranty, I did like this little vac enough to replace it with the exact same model.
Most importantly, it is lightweight and handy - also no bags.
Good suction, small enough to just pick up and hold in corners and crevices. Ideal for the car as well.
Negative would be the short cord (mine is permanently attached to an extension cord which then dangles a bit awkwardly) and the fact that long dog hair and similar things end up wrapped in the upper part of the collection container and gum up everything before the container can fill up ... so it calls for constant attentiveness and to be cleaned very often.
I guess its my fault for having Great Pyrenees :)
I should add that this is not my main vacuum .. I just use it for the detail jobs in the corners - not for large floor areas.

Friiscoo: So, first the good then the bad.
If you’re looking for a big bag and easy flow canister this one’s not it. I agree with the people saying this is a secondary vacuum not an everyday one. Mainly because of its strong suction and you do get tired of pulling and pushing on rug or carpet but then again that’s better than low suction and being able to glide easily. Which again is why it’s my secondary. Flawless on hardwood floor though. And being able to carry it around was just amazing. Just add some straps and could easily turn it into a backpack. Now i am 5’10 and with the entended arm connected I have to hunch over a little bit, unless I carry it with other hand. Which brings in the whole back pack idea thing. However I need both hands to pull and push it so maybe add an extra extender of about 5 inches? Luckily I had old parts from my old one that broke just added it to the new one and fixed that issue. When it arrived it just came in a brown box nothing on it. At first I thought it was the Amazon packaging I had just took off maybe they double boxed? No, it’s how it is. And when I opened and examed it, it did not have either tool it says it comes with just the floor...

Loveagooddeal: I was using Bissell Helix upright bagless vac which i enjoyed using on carpet but when it came to hardwood it would kinda spit the dirt everywhere rather than just suck it up. I decided to replace that with this and I am glad i did!! Do i like it better? Im not sure because I have never used a vac like this before and am still getting used to it.

Pros: works great on hardwood (doesnt spit debris everywhere). Thats the whole reason i bought it- something that actually works on the hardwood but also carpet. Suction is great. Lots of hose and cord length. Cord has button to recoil. Decent price.

Cons: (if you use on carpet it better be the carpet thats lowest to the ground with no shag). I have carpets without shag and thought this would still be ok. It is, but you need to figure out how to maneuver it - ive found the best way for me to use this on carpet is more of a "put vac above dirt and pull it down bringing the vac closer to you" instead of farther out like with a stick/upright vac. IT TAKES A LITTLE LONGER to vac carpets because of the strong suction and/or having to adjust how you vacuum. Also, the hose parts (the stiff tube pieces) come off very easily at...

Overview: I am shocked at how powerfully strong the suction for this tiny little cheap vacuum is. There is a lot to love and a few sacrifices for the price. I have used it for one full cleaning of my house and am really impressed. For this very low price of $80, this little vacuum is a great choice, especially if you have only hard floors. I have back and heart problems that do not allow me to bend over - this vacuum is great for me because the power/cord buttons are used with your foot, and the cord is retractable so you don't have to do it yourself.

Background:
We have a 2 story home with 2 dogs and a cat. We have 95% hard floors downstairs and 90% carpet upstairs. I was tired of lugging our very heavy and very unwieldy Shark vacuum up and down the stairs between floors. We have a problem with pet hair and dust, but since downstairs is mostly hard floors and 4 out of 5 times I vacuumed was downstairs, I decided to get a smaller vacuum. Because this vacuum doesn't have a power carpet...

Marla Kimball: Came very quickly. Great power and suction. No beater bar and the floor bar is mediocre, doesn’t always pick things up. The cord is WAY too short, that’s the main downfall. Great for cleaning dust and ceiling fans, very lightweight, easy to carry and vacuum at the same time if you have to get up high etc. If you buy the horse hair brush with it, it makes a fantastic vacuum for dusting high places, shelves, all the corners and baseboards, etc. Not the best for full floor vacuuming.

CC: Good little vacuum which has a strong suction. I would not recommend this vacuum for someone who has a home which is mainly carpeted because this vacuum does not have an attachment with a rotating bar for carpets. If you are looking for an inexpensive vacuum for hardwood floors or vinyl flooring this will probably suit your needs. The canister is lightweight, but is prone to flipping if you tug too hard while vacuuming. The retractable cord is not particularly long, so you may require any extension cord if your are going to be going from room to room. I would recommend this vacuum to someone who lives in a small apartment or condo with no carpeting or if you want an inexpensive second vacuum to vacuum your car.
