R. Kurtz: I bought a portable evaporate cooler for my bedroom. Right from the second I started to use it, there was a musty wet cardboard smell. I bought a bottle of this to try. Just 2 cap fulls of this in a gallon of water instantly knocked out the funk. I will be buying another case of this, especially with summer coming.

Robert Clemans: I used the Bacteriostatic Water treatment all winter in my humidifier.
it work as advertised which is great. It did not add to the salt load that builds up on the humidifiers paper evaporation grid. I had no issues with fungi or bacteria. I buy it in as big a quantity as I can to reduce shipping fees.

RyanRyan: Attached is a photo of the inside of my evaporative humidifier ( Vornado Evap40 ). Nice and clean, no algae or other ugly things growing inside! I run it continuously all winter long, as I heat my house with wood stoves which really creates low humidity problems.
Last winter, I 'flipped' the square filters on my humidifier one time as the one side became hard due to mineral buildup and such and didn't evaporate as well. I didn't once throw out filters due to algae / bacteria issues though. From reading other reviews, you otherwise have to toss your filters every few weeks (really expensive). So, as far as I'm concerned this is a good money-saver, and it certainly works.

*Tip* - Trying to fill tiny cap for adding the right amount can be a pain, so I put this into an old hand soap dispenser. Check how many pumps on dispenser fills a cap (4 on mine, so I use 12 pumps per tank) and you're good to go
