david: Both are really good projectors , th685p is better for gaming for the low input lag but If you want more details, I'd go with the epson ef 12 since it's a laser projector and has more details and color accuracy than the th685p and has almost the same brightness since its a laser projector, I use both the akia 125" and 104" and tested both on each screen , and like I've said gaming is better on the benq th685p but if you do only movies epson ef 12 is way better for details. Contrast ratio is better on the ef 12 blacks are better and almost looks like a 4k projector , so if you're confused weither to get this or a laser projector go with the laser projector if you only do movies and go with the th685p if you only do gaming.

Placeholder: Great picture quality. It's bright enough to use with the shades open. It's a pretty popular projector for gamers, but I purchased it for television and movies, and it works great for those purposes. I also own a HR2050A and this is a big upgrade from that projector.

Deron: If you’re like me, quality is very important. I game and stream so I wanted something that would be able to keep up. I did a lot of research prior making my final decision. Like most, I thought I’d just go all out and buy that $3,000 Epson projector. Thankfully I took the time to look a little deeper and found this gem. Although it is not fitted with all the bells and whistles (smart tech, extra ports, etc) it has everything you’re looking for in the aesthetics department. Rest assured that this projector will meet and most likely exceed your expectations.

Aiden: This projector was a huge step up from my old projector, and honestly not too much in price. It looks great, the speakers are decent but I only used them once. Running it’s quieter than my old projector. My only issue, which isn’t even a problem is the start up and shut down takes a little bit of time. Not a big deal it’s only a minute or two, but surprised me when I first turned it on. I am definitely never buying a tv again, projectors are so much better and WAY cheaper than buying a similar size tv. Worth it, great mid range projector.

CraigCraig: I was skeptical. Ratings and reviews ranked this unit higher than more beefy and expensive units. For the price, why not try it I thought. The funny part is I bought is in Nov 2022 and it sat on the couch for 7 months. I hooked it up last week and I like it. Colors are solid. It is great for gaming. It is so much better than the older dated $7,000 unit I had. It blows my mind that these are so light and compact now, but after a week of movies and upgrading my screen to a 135" the family gives it a big thumbs up. Only con thus far is the throw distance. Ours is about 14' from the screen but casts a slight overage. I had to buy a bigger screen as it would not adjust smaller. It was either move the projector or get a bigger screen. That said, it is even better on a bigger screen. I am really happy with it thus far. UPDATE: It has had six months in play and I love it. Strong colors, beautiful picture and blacks are not washed out. It blows my mind that it is as good as it is for the size and price. I would literally buy a new one every year at this price! I AM SUPER SATISFIED, my theater room is a beast.

jpenal000: Considering that 10 years ago something like this would have cost a fortune, this product offers an excellent audiovisual experience. It is possible but not ideal to watch a movie in a room where there is a lot of light, but unquestionably at night it looks much better.

Pros:
- What caught my attention was the quality of the audio that comes integrated with the device.
- Easy to install and configure.

What can be improved:
- The noise of the fan, it's not at all quiet but you get used to it after a while.
- I do not recommend buying the version that comes with android TV because due to licensing issues it doesn't support Netflix natively. (Netflix can be installed using a third party application but you need a smart phone to control it and personally it's not the kind of experience I'm looking for when I want to relax and watch a movie. )
- The projector software looks like it was developed 20 years ago, not what I expected from a product at this price in 2023, I guess that's why it comes with Android TV. (This is old technology disguised as innovation.)

Nicole: We have had this projector for three months, a pixel has already died and unfortunately our return window has closed....

WillWill: The media could not be loaded.  To begin with I’m a big project a fan ever since projectors hit the classroom they often used to put me to sleep with a nice little home moving forward now that I’ve grown up I use projectors as a method of displaying 120+ inches more of a vision for cinema experiences offer gang I’ve heard Mitsubishis and been cues before at this price point my expectations were quite high considering projectors are considered to be an alternate alternative to TVs in which TVs will function at a certain specifications no matter what the latest but I will say this is the brightest most detailed most well put together projector I’ve ever used I have it hooked up to my PlayStation for PlayStation five Xbox one X and fire stick 4K all items perform great it also features 120 hearse for fast image and low latency I highly recommend this projector at its price...

Igor Markovich: Very good quality on 120 inch screen. Bright enough for my basement suite. Many different sound options, but internal speaker is not the loudest.
Love Google TV option and it works well. The only issue is Netflix not supported on projector itself. However, you can go around it by screen mirroring from another device.
