Ron: Beautiful workmanship, full tonal range with good sustain. I've owned many steel string guitars and still have two but this Yamaha classical guitar has become my favorite. Haven't abandoned my folk/bluegrass days but this classical music is enthralling!

BeansBeans: The media could not be loaded.  Goes down to 19 frets, top three strings are steel and the bottom three are nylon, which can give it an odd sound. The guitar itself is decent, im still a beginner so it works just fine. The neck is a little wide so it can be hard to wrap your hands around especially if you are used to electric guitar. Other than that it sounds pretty okay, the bottom strings are just a little muted since they aren’t steel but it stays in tune.

Sin embargo, si bien tiene buena presencia de graves (con un correcto cambio de cuerdas) sus agudos son ligeramente opacos, por lo que recomiendo unas cuerdas de sonido brillantes, y quizás sea recomendable usar tensiones media-alta a alta para ganar un poco de presencia. Yo no me estoy iniciando en la música, pero me gustó como guitarra de práctica diaria.

I bought a Cordoba C5CE years ago, loved it. Sadly, I sold it for some reason.

So after looking, i found this popular Yamaha. I've always respected Yamaha musical instruments...I grew up playing the PSR 280 keyboard and it's lasted for 20 years.

I wanted something great but I didn't wanna spend a lot of money. This seemed to fit the bill.

So i got it in the mail, and yes, the hype is real. The thing is built cleanly and with precision for this price point. I consider $140 to be ridiculously cheap when I'm buying any instrument other than a Eukelele. So, for this much money, I'd normally expect complete garbage. But what we have hear, I think, is an example of excellent consolidation and streamlining. This guitar has no features meaning: no special top of the line woods, no electronics, no fancy graphics or inlays etc. They put all effort in making a rock solid, decent sounding instrument.

Now, compared to my old Cordoba, it does not have that "wow" factor in terms of tone. But it does have the "goodness this thing is well balance and very playing" factor, couple with the "I only spend $140, this is insane"...
