TimeTraveller: Don't go for this believing that it will look good on the wall. My wife went through the reviews and bought it because she felt it will look good.
We are not impressed! It does not look good. It needs a special kind of taste to really look at this one up on the wall and like it. Ours does not look good at all!
If my wife has to confess to me about how her choice isn't acceptable, I'm compelled to agree. Hardly does she make such gaffes.
Make sure to match it with your decor before you buy.

Marjorie S.: I am very impressed with the look of this product. My doorbell was at least 20 years old and had slowly reduced in sound volume so that it could not be heard on the third floor.
This produce produces volume so that it can be heard on the third floor, the basement and even the garage. I am totally happy with it and would recommend it to anyone wanting to upgrade their doorbell.

Jennifer: I love this doorbell chime. It is exceptionally stylish and pleasing to most styles of décor. I've received so many compliments from guests who visit my home. The chime is loud so it may be heard in any room of my 1680 square foot home, but not obnoxiously loud. The metal material and opaque glass are thin, which makes me think that the materials are not high quality. Similar to another reviewer, I also had to play with the glass (move it around) so there wouldn't be gaps between the metal and glass. Because I'm not handy, I had an electrician install this device at the same time as I had other work completed. It only took him about 7 minutes to install; he said it was pretty easy. I would recommend this chime to others if the goal for them is to find something pleasing to the eye and with a chime that is typical/simple.

Richard P. Collins: Installed same day that it arrived despite very limited instructions that arrived with it -- essentially a wiring diagram. Not that process was complicated, always feel better w/more detailed instructions in the event that there's an unexpected step -- without instructions, forced to make assumptions. Instructions contained a reference to installing transformer even though unit comes w/o a transformer. The glass arrived askew requiring an adjustment (simple) to the glass so that there was no open space. Annoying to have to make such an adjustment -- should have been assembled correctly prior to shipping. Worked right away. Of course, only time will tell if unit is durable. Didn't want a plastic (usually white) item and this unit fit the bill. Certainly intend to keep it but for the price the glass should have been installed right and a little effort put into the instructions.
