Battery-Powered Mini Reacher Alarm Clock

eleanor waterbury: it costs more than i'd figure, but i gues this is post-china-cheap-cost days now. that said, it is a solid substantial clock, a handful but easy to tuck away. i can turn off the 'screen' which is nice, as i only use it to read while sleeping. . well, when i awake while sleeping. open my eyes, press the top, the time 'lights up for a few seconds .. and i'm all set.. glad not to have the constent 'flashing' to look at during the day. yes, i've only had it one day now, and am already glad to have it.

Jessica G. Harris: I bought this clock as a way to get my 5 year old daughter up to independently go potty during the middle of the night and to wake up for school.

This clock is cheap and does what it's supposed to, meaning the alarm goes off. The alarm starts out beeping 3-5x once every second, then transitions to 2 beeps for the same amount of time, then transitions into what sounds like a metal detector when it finds metal. BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP... It's loud enough that I can hear it in my bedroom on the other side of the house if my fan isn't on, so I know she can hear it when it's 10 feet away from her.

From start to finish, the alarm lasts about 15-20 seconds. If you've guessed it, the alarm shuts off by itself. This is frustrating because my daughter has figured out that she doesn't need to physically turn the alarm off; she will just lay in bed until it shuts off and goes back to sleep without getting her half asleep self out of bed to use the potty. But if you want to turn it off yourself, you have to press and hold either the "H" or "W" until it turns off. If my daughter actually gets up to turn off the alarm, she forgets this and keeps pressing on the...

My last battery-operated alarm clock didn't ring loud or long enough, so I overslept one important day. This Reacher alarm is great, although I've only used it one night thus far, but it's so great that I have to review it.
What makes it so great?
1. It's quiet, no tick-tock clock sound.
2. It rings really loud, and I have to turn it off to make it stop. Yay!!
3. It comes with simple instructions and it's easy to set the time and the alarm.
4. A button allows you to tap it for the display. If you don't want to run down your battery, tap it and you won't see the time. (At home I also use an electric clock, which lets me see the time. I have this battery-operated alarm as a backup for when the electricity goes out.) When the time is displayed, you can push the button, which will display a backlight, so you can see the time at night. The backlight stays on for a few seconds for you to see the time when the room is dark, and then the light goes out so you can sleep in darkness.

wannabe perfectionist 💬wannabe perfectionist 💬: The media could not be loaded.  My daughter was using an old iPhone as an alarm clock in her bed but the iPhone was so old that the battery would not last overnight and drain completely by the morning 😁

So we decided to buy a simple battery powered alarm clock and this one worked out great for my daughter.

WHAT I LIKE:

[+] Very small and battery-powered so it can be placed anywhere without plugging it in to outlet
[+] She loves the color and display is very clear with an option to turn off the display
[+] Easy to change the time and alarm setting yet you can't accidentally change it (see video)
[+] The display is not lid so it won't bother your eyes in the dark yet you can press the top button to turn the back light
[+] Alarm sound and beep frequency increases slowly rather than in one big bang, which can be scary and annoying
[+] Price

WHAT I DON'T LIKE:

[-] The buttons seems very hard and makes very loud click sound. I wish the click was softer and more gentle.

THE BOTTOM LINE:

This is solid 5 out of 5 stars. I highly recommend this alarm clock.
