Selena: It is less of a Batman story and more a Superman story. I think it gives a small glimpse into what I think would be a great story. I think the use of Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, is so great and it makes me wish that Frank Miller got the chance to do a green lantern story. But a good story.

Kindle Customer: Obviously the first 2 that frank Miller did are 2 of the best batman dark knight comics, graphic novels, I've read. Thinking those 2 were it kinda left alot unanswered for me and didn't feel complete. Now this is such a different story then we've gotten in the 1st 2 dark knight novels by frank Miller that you might be like WTF?, BUT, that being said the way in which it is done I loved. Did I expect to see aliens and all this other stuff I won't mention because I don't want to spoil anything but from the 1st time you see the dark knight to seeing what happens after the 1st time, the surprises around every corner and the way they incorporated other super heroes in this I loved. Fun read, beautiful artwork and in way an ending to this great series. Maybe not the one you expected or anything like that but still very good and the story is rounded out and has an end I think most will enjoy.

L. D. Roy the Junior: An intriguing plot, inventive subplots, and modernized classic throwbacks all combine to solidify one HECK of a story. The artwork is perfection condensed, but never simplified, drawing upon each brush stroke, every colour selected, the borders of each panel maximized to combine dialogue, expression, and environment to POP with Superhero Superiority. Never boring, predictable, or dull, all-around the BEST comic I've experienced in a VERY LONG TIME!! #MillerTime #ComicPerfection #FanFavourite #ComicsAreLife

Dan'l Danehy-Oakes: D**n if this book doesn't make up for the travesty that was _The Dark Knight Strikes Again_ - indeed, it takes off from the last few details of that, where it is revealed that Superman and Wonder Woman have a teenaged daughter, Lara.

Well, here it is a couple of years later, and Superman hasn't been seen or heard from. Carrie - who was the "Robin" in _Dark Knight Returns_ and, uh, "Catgirl" in TDKSA - is now wearing the cowl and seriously p***ing off Commissioner Yindel. Bruce Wayne is very old indeed, and pretty much broken physically, but Carrie tends to him in her spare time.

Lara convinces Ray (The Atom) Palmer that it's time to enlarge the bottle city of Kandor, which has been languishing in Superman's Fortress-o-Solitude for decades. Palmer can only do so much at a time, so he enlarges the first hundred... only to find out that they are members of a fanatic Kryptonian cult, convinced that they are gods who should rule Earth. Their leader's first act is to use his newly-acquired heat vision to torch the rest of Kandor and its population. He also dooms Palmer to unending shrink, and steps on him just to make sure.

So these are the "Master Race" of the...

Frederick Baptist: Coming from one who believes that The Dark Knight Returns is the best graphic novel ever written and who was underwhelmed by the sequel DK 2 I decided to approach this latest installment of the series cautiously and without high expectations hopeful from some of the reviews here that it may still be worth getting. Overall I think the story isn't all that bad and I can safely say I enjoyed this a lot better than DK 2 and I've also resigned myself to the fact that Frank Miller is probably never going to reach the heights again that he achieved with DK 1. That said, this story does hold up well among what has been released these days although at points the heavily expressionist Kubert and especially so the occasional Miller artwork was jarring at first and needs some getting used to. One does wonder if this was deliberate or just a quick and shabby way to meet some imposed deadline although it's safe to say Jim Lee fans will have a cardiac arrest looking at some of the "artwork" here and so will George Perez if he sees how Wonder Woman is drawn here. As a personal favourite it was nice to see Ray Palmer's Atom play an important role in this story although we also get a few other...
