BAKFlip MX4 Hard Folding Tonneau Cover: Protect Your Truck Bed in Style

H Rosemont: really great quality except the front window lip sits almost an inch up from the bed and the locks at the back are hard to engage. Also it was too wide, I had to really tighten down the brackets was too hard to try and spread them for the unit to fit. It never really sat down like it should but after prying it into place it forced the side pieces to spread. Feels really sturdy and looks awesome.

Dimoe: This BAKFlip MX4 replaces a broken rolltop cover I had. I installed this with a little help for alignment, and it was easy to do! I put this on a 2002 Chevy Silverado extended cap Z71 with the 6.5 foot bed. It seems durable, looks great and the best part is my wife, who is 5 feet tall was able to open it completely without getting in the bed of the truck. I was impressed, they really put some thought into how this cover should work to be useful and user friendly. In my opinion this was a win all day long; not to mention I think it makes my truck look great!!! The only downside was the instructions, in one hart was a little confusing where they were discussing the use of wedges; they are included ads are thick rubber strips; not what I expected but when installed are perfect!

Mark: First, let me start by saying that this product is every bit as beautiful as you'd expect; it looks and works amazing.

Now for the tl;dr folks:

I had a unit that (apparently) had a small factory defect in one of the slats that didn't expose itself until the very end of installation. I contacted the seller to see what could be done as the defect was obvious, but didn't fully stop operation so I didn't really want to hassle with uninstalling, returning, receiving and re-installing again. It was also missing a single screw that holds down the strap holder. First off, let me send a HUGE shout out to their CS team -- they were polite, quick to respond and very thorough with their options dealing with this issue. I couldn't ask for better service. They bent over backwards to be sure I was satisfied and that my issue was addressed. Not once did they make me feel like I was a "Karen" and just complaining.

For the product, installation was a breeze. I did have another buddy here to help, which came in useful as lifting the top onto the truck might have been difficult for me to do at my age and physical condition but was easy as pie with 2. A second person also helped...

So I opted to have it installed.
Picked it up the following day after it sat outside all night. Everything was nice and dry underneath. The following day as we had hit +9 C.
Very pleased with the fit and finish.

Valerie Storry: This item was slow in shipping (not fault of supplier). It did arrive with damage to the box but all items were in box minus 2 screws which I had correct thread size in my supply.
Good product looks fine installed. would have preferred slightly better instructions to match all the foam parts in kit but overall fine.

Amazon Shopper: I looked at numerous covers, and decided on the flip for it's sturdiness and the fact that I don't have to retract or raise the entire thing to use it.

It was packaged very well, there were numerous handling marks and a couple of holes in the box from UPS' notorious abuse, but the packaging protected it well.

It was so easy to install, it took less than 30 minutes to get it set good. I spent another 15 getting it snugged exactly where I wanted it to get the front and rear seals to cover the most area, and it was done. I like the ease of opening and closing it, and especially like the look of it. I decided to use this in tandem with a moto-gate to keep smaller stuff like groceries and ice chests from sliding up to the front. All in all, with my locking tailgate, this cover keeps things out of sight, and most importantly, keeps them *IN* the bed of the pickup on the highway.

Nice product, and I am happy with it.

K. L. Carriker II: I just bought a new truck (2011 Chevy Silverado, 8' bed) and the dealer tried to talk me into a roll-top tonneau for $1300. I thought that sounded steep and I didn't like the idea of a canister taking up cargo space at the front of the truck, so I declined. After much research, I settled on the Bakflip G2. Having an 8' bed of course made whatever cover I bought more expensive than all the "advertised lowest prices;" those are usually for 5 1/2 foot beds. Ordering it direct from BAK would have run $860, but I found it here at Amazon for $739. Heck of a difference!

It installed easily. Including unpacking everything, studying the directions, and actually installing it, it took about an hour to install. Frankly, I was shocked at how smoothly the installation went. Clamping the bed rails into place was a piece of cake. What really surprised me, though, was installing the actual Bakflip cover. I set it in place and unfolded it and it laid right into place! I went all around it, looking for a something that needed tweaking or adjusting, but it was in place perfectly.
