BAKFlip G2 Hard Folding Tonneau Cover for Truck Beds

I feel comfortable leaving my belongings in the back knowing the cover is strong and sturdy. Also no wind noise when driving at high speeds.

Larry Bradley: Arrived a day earlier than expected. Fits my F150 perfectly and looks great. It’s replacing a 8 year old Bakflip F1 cover that had started to come apart. I hope this one last longer.

Brady S.: The cover has suited my needs, but is not worth the money. I have used it for 8 months. It rolls up nicely and latches onto my f150 well. I like how the cover sits flush with the bed. I do not like the straps for when it is rolled up. They seem flimsy and I can see them breaking in the future. They also do not stay tight so the cover moves slightly when it is rolled up. My biggest complaint about it is the rear plastic caps. One arrived broken and the other broke off after 2 months of use. For spending over $1000 on a cover, this should not happen. I would not buy this again and would choose a more affordable option if I were to buy another roll up cover. I have been in contact with BAK directly and I am waiting on a response or solution to the problem.

UPDATE: I contacted BAK directly and they sent two sets of replacement caps for the cover free of charge. They seem to have updated them, but they still feel somewhat flimsy.

Scott LaingScott Laing: We just got a new truck a few months ago and on our first camping trip with it we quickly learned how much of a pain it is to feel like you have to move things like child carrier backpacks etc into the cab of the truck to secure it if you stop somewhere for lunch. We had a three week road trip to Utah and Canada planned and I knew we’d want a good tonneau cover to secure our cargo in the bed of the truck and keep it dry. After a lot of research on tonneau covers I settled on getting this one and can honestly say I couldn’t be much happier. While on our 5,000 mile round trip we drove through wind and torrential rain at times and everything in the bed stayed dry. Even after raining for two days straight in Canada. I did use the included drain tubes and had them drain out the holes drilled in the plastic plugs they tell you to drill through in the instructions. With getting up to 85 mph on some roads and with crosswinds I never had any problems with the cover rattling in the wind like I had heard one reviewer talk about. I think it may have been a fluke or possibly a different method of installation that may have given them the problem.

Randy F: Easy to install by yourself. Fit I excellent if you take your time, pay attention to detail and strive for a professional look. It took me about forty-five minutes to install by myself. Only common hand tools needed to install.
When the order was received everything was inventoried for correct count and damage. One piece of hardware was missing and I immediately notified the manufacturer. I spoke with a representative in order to have the product corrected. The missing part was determined and I was assured the part would be sent out the next day. Well two months later I am still waiting! This cover was registered for warranty purposes the day I received it.
I do like the look of the cover and the protection it offers. One thing I would recommend has to do with the opening of the panels. The way it operates you have to pull the release on both sides of a panel in order to open it. This is a challenge on the middle panel and the panel that is closest to the cab. In order to open these two panels is either get in the bed and grasp both cables (right and left side) to disengage the locks or have a person on the opposite side of the truck to assist you.

AmberAmber: Arrived late and I wasn't able to pick it up for an extra 2 weeks as I had to go out of town for work. Had it installed professionally as it seemed like quite the task for one person. It looks alright but doesn't seem to sit quite right. It is slightly raised at the rear of the truck. At nearly $1500 it is quite expensive.

They claim it to be dust and water proof but that couldn't be further from the truth. My truck bed sucks in the dust and moisture now. Everything in the bed is covered in dust and when I put a suitcase in the back in winter it was COVERED in snow when I opened the tailgate at the end of a 2 hour drive. This cover does nothing.

dmac: Quick delivery and very well packaged. Instructions clear and install quite straightforward provided you take your time. This is my 1st truck and 1st tonneau cover but this seems like a well-engineered product constructed from quality materials. I'm docking a star because of quality assurance -- it was missing a machine screw which meant I had to run to hardware store to purchase replacement.

Tony Dulisse: We had some initial problems and issues with delivery, however, the vendor stepped up and sent a replacement within two day...we have had the tonneau cover installed for a couple of days now and all appears to be working well. I will update this review in a couple of weeks after we have had it a little longer. Update: Cover has been in place for about 5 months now and it is performing very well. Happy with the purchase...give this one a try...it is well made and very durable.
Update: We have had the cover on the truck for approximately 5 months now....great cover, durable and solid. Had one minor issue during a severe wind storm where a piece was broken, called the vendor/manufacturer who sent me replacement pieces free of charge and almost immediately. Great customer service, no questions asked. Thank you for taking care of us.
