Avid Power Portable Electric Tire Inflator Air Compressor

Sandrine: I've been using it for over a year now, mainly to check and adjust the pressure of the tires for my cars and bikes. Very easy to use, no need to go anymore to the gas station and use their dirty, user unfriendly, compressor with a stone aged mechanical gauge that is impossible to read and that never plugs correctly to your tire's valve. The only problem I had is that the needle shaped plug used to inflate balls broke. But for car and bike tires, I find it is an excellent product.

Richard Greenland: The first unit arrived and was completely non-functioning. The seller replaced it very quickly and the replacement works as expected. The air hoses and power cords are all wrapped around the unit in such a way that if you are careful to re-wrap them after each use, you should get a lot of use of it either in 12V or 120V mode to output high pressure or high volume air.

Amazon Customer: I bought this pump for its ability to preset the pressure and let it pump up the tire without going back and forth with the gauge and air pump. It worked like a charm. My biggest concern was the accuracy of the Avid pump so I used a (1) manual hand-held gauge I've been using for years for measuring my car tires, then used the (2) Avid Power inflator that I bought on Prime. I then used a (3) third handheld gauge to check the pressure after pumping up the tire with the Avid. My results? The Avid and gauge #3 were within 1 pound of each other. The gauge I've been using for years was off by -5 to -7 pounds! The Avid pump also has a lot of extra inflator tools and an LED light. I also like the option of 110V or 12V for power.

Amazon Customer: I was hesitant to buy due to number of factors: size, noise, functionality, durability.
Size is way smaller than I expected, which is good for storing in the trunk. Noise is not bad at all compare to other products. So far I have only used it to inflate tires and the gauge reading and functionality is as expected. The inflation rate is quite fast. About 0.5 lb of air in about 10 seconds.
The only thing left is durability. Time will tell. I'd be glad to provide some feedback in the future.

Publicus: It's a bit big due to its large number of accessories and features, but that's OK. I was so glad to buy this.

I hope this pump stays in production. People deserve a product like this.

If you want nothing but a small car pump, this might not be for you. But for me, it works and is accurate. I tried unsuccessfully to use this to blow up decorative party balloons. I used a narrow funnel-like attachment this has, but the pump didn't seem able to fill the balloon. I don't know why, given that blow up a car tire. I didn't figure if there was a leak with the attachment or if the attachment hose itself had a bad seal with the pump (or a hole in the hose).

I love the automatic shut-off! It works well. And the pump seems accurate to within half a PSI. BTW, I still try not to count on the pump automatic shut-off, because if it fails a car tire could explode. That is dangerous. However, sometimes I do let the pump run and just trust it to shut itself off. No problems yet.

Before I had this, an air pump I had failed after a long life. I went pump shopping stores. From Autozone to Walmart and all store names in between, their seemed to be only brand...

KaylaKayla: This is the second AVID Power brand tire inflator bought in so many weeks. The first one had to be returned because it wouldn't turn on. This one arrived in a damaged box with major exterior damage. This one turns on and seems to inflate tires, so I'll be keeping it for now.

Amy: I am so impressed with this little unit. It packs a punch in such a small machine, I love how easy it is to use, it works great for inflating my SUV, sports car and tractor tires. I am going to buy another 1 to put in my SUV for if I run into an emergency situation on the road. You can set the PSI, press a button and bam you've got an inflated tire. I also like that it has the attachment hoses to inflate and deflate air mattresses/pools and the like. Super happy!!

Rose: I got this because I had an air compressor that was built into a jumper box. The issue with that was it only worked as long as it was able to hold a charge and the air compressor won’t work even when it’s plugged in to charge. So I was looking for an air compressor that would work being plugged in and this fit the bill.

Compared to my other one, this one is perfect for our needs in many ways. I like how it’s easy to hook up the hose (flip the tab down vs twisting it on). You preset the pressure you need and it stops when it reaches that pressure. It gives you accurate pressure reading when you let the hose stay attached for a few seconds (before and after putting air in.. I’ve noticed it’s lower than the actual pressure while it’s putting air in). I like how it has the extra pieces easily stored onto the device itself and we’ll be able to use it for multiple things. They have it setup well to where it holds everything it needs and it stores well.

The comment about how you can’t see the pressure number unless you’re close to it is accurate. As soon as you stand up the number is not visible at all. But i noticed if you raise it up...
