S Cockrell: I ordered this item because I was travelling to remote areas (national parks) in cold weather that might cause the air pressure in the tires to decrease. It turns out that I didn’t need to use the air compressor while travelling, but after arriving at home the weather dropped below freezing. Tire pressure was 31/32 psi, down from 36 psi. I attached the compressor to each tire in turn after having plugged the unit into the cigarette lighter while the engine was running. All 4 tires were up to appropriate pressure within 15 minutes. The unit worked perfectly and it was easy to accomplish!! Very satisfied!

Igor S.Igor S.: The media could not be loaded.  This inflator is a bargain for the price. You can see how it works from the video. I deliberately decided to pump a compact spare tire because of the higher target pressure of 60psi. The tire pressure goes from 22 to 60psi in about 3-4 minutes. The inflator is pretty quiet (compare its noise to the button clicks in the beginning of the video). At the end I did not feel any increase in the cylinder temperature up at all. Note that I used a lithium jump-starter battery to power the inflator. It was around 75% and did not lose much charge. This is a sign that the inflator is very efficient. If I were to use car battery (with engine running) as a power source the tire would likely be inflated much faster.

I had to contact Avid Power customer service about an issue with the valve connector rubber seal. The first inflator I received was working but the connector seal showed noticeable wear/deterioration after just a few uses and looked as if it would not last long. Honestly, I was expecting to get a standard response like "wait until it fails completely and if that happens send it back under the warranty". The actual experience with Avid...

Jim G.: I bought this because it was similar to another unit I had bought at Costco that had worked well for the price until the hose broke after maybe 6 years of use. In comparison this feels a little lighter and has a smaller gauge wire on it. On the other hand it does have a light, digital pressure gauge and auto shutoff preset option that the other didnt have. Overall it seems to work well and do a good job. The one negative for me anyhow, is that it didnt work in the lighter jack of my daughter's 2013 Mini Cooper. The reason I discovered is that the metal contact tip of the power plug is too wide to fit between the ceramic insulator and still make contact with the conductor inside of the lighter jack. It worked fine in 3 other Hondas though. Not sure if newer Minis will have the same issue.

KW: Hard to say why, either it arrived broken or the delivery driver broke it when he threw it over my fence into the common area of my apartments instead of delivering it to my door (GG Amazon PRIME delivery). I had to buy an adapter because I bought this to inflate the tire on my BIKE and I don't own a car. WHY on earth this wouldn't have a simple home outlet plug is beyond me. I mean you could always buy an adapter for your car.

I have it plugged in through an adapter, I set the desired PSI for my bike and it just sits here growling and making noise on the floor and not inflating anything. The cylinder isn't getting warmer, the PSI indicator isn't showing any increase in pressure and my tire isn't getting more inflated.

I'm amending my review to give 5 stars because after placing my original review, the manufacturer contacted me and offered to send me an upgraded unit at no charge. Everyone has their price, and apparently mine is $59.95 so I recommend this manufacturer all the way. Go team Avid!
