Keith: We tend to collect a random screw in one of our tires once a year or so. I got tired of airing up the tires every week or paying a shop to fix them, when most of the time the shop says "The tire is not repairable. You need to buy a set of 4 new tires." If it's a safety issue like a tear in the sidewall then sure, but a small screw in the middle of the tread? Let's just patch it and move on.

Well, it happened again. A gutter trim screw ended up in one of my tires. I was losing 1-2 psi/day. With this kit I removed the screw, cleaned up the hole, and pushed in a patch in a few minutes. The worst part of it was the grease lubricant flying all over at 30 psi, as I patched the tire without taking it off the car or airing it down. The included utility knife worked fine for trimming off the excess patch material.

I'm not sure I'll every use some of the stuff in this kit, but for basic plugs it paid for itself in one use. The convenience of not having to go to a tire shop was an added plus.

AxAx: Product seems good even though not delivered as of the writing of this post, will update once amz deliver the package.

Update 2: package arrived really late, around 9:15pm, expected arrival was max 3pm, part of the lubricant was out of the recipient.

Update 3:
I was able to use the product with impressive results, when trying to insert the string patch you will need to apply a lot of pressure to be able to insert it properly, it was so difficult to insert even using the lubricant but I think it is expected, once string got inserted and add air to the tire there were no air out, I checked air pressure again after 12hrs and still keeping same air pressure. Over all good, -1 point here for Amz late delivery.

BennyP: Great set, has everything you need. Last set had to add pliers and air pressure gauge but this kit is complete. Slim case fits under seat. . Both the T-handle rasp and the plug setter are sturdy metal and the plug setter has a collar to help with the plug making it really easy to use. Construction site down the block so bought this after first flat and fixed two more the following week so it paid for itself. Gives you a bunch of plugs so should last a while.

Curt: This was easy to use. It is great that it comes with T handles on the tools.

The only complaint I have is that the reamer either needs to be a little thicker or the plugs need to be a little thinner. I could not get the plug pushed in even after reaming the hole for a good five minutes. The tire deformed and I'd hit the rim before the plug would go in. Ultimately, I used the utility knife to shave the plug down a little thinner and it went in with a good amount of force.

Still a great set!

Comes with a lot of plugs, the reemer and plug tool seem like they are good quality and more than good enough to do the job. Also comes with a valve core tool which is always handy to have around being that I do a fair bit of mechanic work.

Also included are some valve stems. I myself would probably not use these valve stems unless they were all I had on hand. The metal just seems like it is cheap and semi low quality. On the off chance you’re away from home with a bad valve stem and you have the tools necessary to change the stem and get the tire back on the bead, these are great to have with you and can get you home in a pinch! Although the chance of such a thing is obviously quite low.

Overall I don’t feel that the valve stems are the main focus of this kit so for the price you pay you’re getting a good quality product that can get you home or to the nearest shop. I would recommend this as something to keep in your car in case of an emergency, never know what you might run over!
