Jaime: I bought this for my jeep cherokee. It does cover the middle console, but my dog is still able to jump over it and get into the front seat. He is a 25 pound boston terrier. This will probably work for small dogs, but not bigger breeds.

maxmax: So this is the second one of these I've gotten and this one has a hole now like the last one basically it just doesn't hold up very well so if you're looking for something you can keep for a few years don't buy this if you want a cheap quick solution it's very good but they don't last more than 6 months at least my last two haven't

Ridgerunner: We have a labrador retriever puppy that likes to sit in the front seat. We looked at various barriers that might prevent that in our new Sorento and decided on this particular one based on cost.
Even though it's not as sturdy as a metal/plastic barrier it actually did the job quite nicely. Our puppy can lay were she can see us through the barrier but she doesn't try to crawl through it, (although she initially attempted to chew through it. We corrected that behavior and she hasn't tried since).
The only problem we've had with it is that one of the plastic clips that secure it to the bottom seat rail broke due to strain. I had to tie a knot in that bungee cord to make it work after that. Those clips would be better suited if they were made out of metal or a stronger material than abs plastic.
