AUTOWN 67-Piece Heavy-Duty Tire Repair Kit with Plugging Tools

Mike: This is a large tire repair kit with some 74 pieces in a study plastic case. Fortunately, I haven't had a need to use it yet so that's why I've graded it a 4 Star instead of a 5 Star, but the quality of materials appear very good. Hopefully I won't have to use it, but it's great off-road insurance for my ATV.

Ryan: Bought this as I found a screw in my tire. While the screw was keeping the air in didn't know how long until it would come out. Used this to fix the hole, and it worked perfectly. Eventually I replaced the tires but it never leaked air until I did. Don't be my brother and buy a cheep kit and then have to find someone with this to bail you out.

Keith: We tend to collect a random screw in one of our tires once a year or so. I got tired of airing up the tires every week or paying a shop to fix them, when most of the time the shop says "The tire is not repairable. You need to buy a set of 4 new tires." If it's a safety issue like a tear in the sidewall then sure, but a small screw in the middle of the tread? Let's just patch it and move on.

Well, it happened again. A gutter trim screw ended up in one of my tires. I was losing 1-2 psi/day. With this kit I removed the screw, cleaned up the hole, and pushed in a patch in a few minutes. The worst part of it was the grease lubricant flying all over at 30 psi, as I patched the tire without taking it off the car or airing it down. The included utility knife worked fine for trimming off the excess patch material.

I'm not sure I'll every use some of the stuff in this kit, but for basic plugs it paid for itself in one use. The convenience of not having to go to a tire shop was an added plus.

Michele Kohan: I bought this so that my son could put a plug in one of my camper tires that had a small nail protruding from it. As it turned out, the nail had not pierced the tire, but was just stuck slightly in the thread. I am glad to have this product now to keep in my truck, as I travel often alone, towing my camper and have had nails in both my truck and camper tires in the past. Even if I am not able to perform the task myself, due to arthritis in my hands, at least I will have the tools handy for someone to hopefully assist me if need be.

Comes with a lot of plugs, the reemer and plug tool seem like they are good quality and more than good enough to do the job. Also comes with a valve core tool which is always handy to have around being that I do a fair bit of mechanic work.

Also included are some valve stems. I myself would probably not use these valve stems unless they were all I had on hand. The metal just seems like it is cheap and semi low quality. On the off chance you’re away from home with a bad valve stem and you have the tools necessary to change the stem and get the tire back on the bead, these are great to have with you and can get you home in a pinch! Although the chance of such a thing is obviously quite low.

Overall I don’t feel that the valve stems are the main focus of this kit so for the price you pay you’re getting a good quality product that can get you home or to the nearest shop. I would recommend this as something to keep in your car in case of an emergency, never know what you might run over!
