Théa: A very nicely structured and easy-to-read material for any beginner in the field of audio engineering. It covers many important topics, such as history of audio production, sound and acoustics, recording techniques and microphones, file formats, digital vs. analog, signal flow, understanding of EQ, processors and effects, as well as working with people and running a recording session with musicians. Comprehensive but concise and easy to understand - excellent source of knowledge for any student eager to dive into the multidisciplinary and quickly developing science.

There are many videos on youtube to allow best comprehension.
I recommend it

C. R. Phelps: This book is a very good starting point for a person who is looking to progress a little farther in their home studio. It teaches the most important fundamentals without getting too dry, and it keeps things moving along and interesting.

But there's a strange juxtaposition of day one mixing lessons and instruction on dealing with customers in a commercial recording studio. I can't fathom how there could be a person who would find both of these things useful simultaneously. I would hope that by the time a person has a studio and is booking time, they would have long known not to mix in solo too much. Also, some of the illustrations come across as a lot of filler. Do we really need two drawings of people sitting at a desk talking about pricing for studio time taking up a quarter of a page?

I'm glad I bought this book though. However, I recommend it only to someone who wants a quick and dirty (albeit thorough) lesson on the fundamentals, and I suggest to that person that they continue their education after this book with other books that go into these concepts in more depth.

J. Kofi: As a complete novice or tyro to the world of sound engineering this book does a great job of covering all the basics as well as general advice given in a way that makes you feel the author is right there with you

I really appreciated the last chapter with all those varied frequently asked questions I am too afraid to ask pros - and to be honest I don't know where to find such people so this was a real gem

A great all around buy!

Savisto Luego: Great book, reveals basic audio engineering concepts in a simple manner. Perfect for beginners, though some of the concepts werent really explained to an in depth level, so it can be a bit too simple at times where your going to have find further study the concepts in order to really understand what their doing so they have a sense of how to apply it.

Cliff Haggerty: This book is great to have simply for its table of contents which you can use to go on line with to get 4 or 5 different explanations for the same concepts listed in this book...and you'll want to get other explanations because the ones in this book are not the be all and end all and the topics covered need varying degrees of repetition, review, and different languaging for everyone to fully understand.

Senyo Nyakutse: Have really just browsed a few pages. Seems informative enough. Have nothing more to add but more words required. Thanks
