Yorgi: This is a high quality laptop and works great. Much simpler to maintain than a windows based laptop for simple web browsing, email, streaming/casting. Its a great tablet replacement and you get the keyboard included. Though the keys are very hard to read when backlit in daylight as they are silver. I have to turn the backlight off all the time. The screen is good quality and has nice resolution for the price. Would be great if it supported the Asus pen too.

MaRc:
I initially bought Asus because I have had success with other Asus laptops in the past. The quality was usually great and they used to have good customer support.
My chromebook was over heating, lower than advertised battery life and screen was flickering within the first year of ownership.
I called warranty to find out that it could be repaired by Asus (at no cost to me) and received an RMA number to send the product in for repair.
After 1 week I was told that the device exhibited water damage and recieved an invoice for more than twice the initial cost I paid for the new chromebook. Water damage? The device had never left my home office? I called to question the assessment/invoice and they said I could use the Accidental Damage Protection that I purchased and the repair would not cost me anything. I agreed to use the ADP protection but they couldn't process the request because the initial request was for warranty repair. For the next 2 weeks i received automated emails stating my device was going to be returned unrepaired and I had to call in multiple times to confirm they were actually going to repair my device
Long story made...

Deborah MacDonald: Have had this now for a few weeks and hasn't disappointed! Once the initial charge was done that took 3hrs as recommended it was ready to use, no extra set up required. Couple minor issues-no number keypad, and its smaller size takes some getting use to the keyboard. Battery lasts me about 3 days, very light user, don't play games or stream music so that may vary with the usage. It starts up quick as well as opening webpages. Touch pad is very sensitive, however, I like using a mouse so purchased one; do use both. Had some difficulty setting up to print though, unless you have a cloud ready printer that will pick up automatically it still is possible. I found some helpful videos and use our current laptop as a printer server, very easy to set up. Overall very happy with it.

I'm not completely new to Chromebooks, my Children both use them for school and I've messed around with them off and on for a couple of years. Recently my 10 year old Macbook's battery finally gave up and I found myself in the market for a new laptop.
I grabbed my son's Asus 302 and started messing with it to see what I could get it to do, and very soon realized that a Chromebook could meet the vast majority, if not all, of my day to day needs:
Since my Son's 302 has held up so well for over two school years of daily use... I decided to give this 434 a try. I'm really glad I did.
The Great:
The screen and itty-bitty bezel gives a whole lot of extra screen space in a size only a fraction larger than my Boy's 302. It's a 14 inch screen in what is basically a 13 inch body. The resolution, color fidelity and brightness are 100% fine for me. In strong sunlight the screen struggles - but - really... I can't see how I could ding it for that. I ride a shuttle bus to work with tinted windows. If full sun is shining through the windows directly on the screen it gets washed out. For the price I do not think you could expect much more. If...

I have had this chromebook for three weeks now, and I have used it on a constant daily basis of about 8-10 hours per day. I am impressed by the build quality and usability. I haven't had a chromebook for a long time. I had an original Samsung Chromebook for a couple years, and back then Chrome OS was still edgy enough to not always be able to fill my needs as a student and teacher, but it was enough to get by until I got home to my desktop. Since getting this Asus c434, however, my desktop has been collecting dust. I work two teaching jobs and attend school, so I am constantly on the computer planning lessons, reading, typing documents, doing research, or just streaming Netflix or Hulu at home.
Screen: I love that it is compact and light, but still packs a 14" touchscreen. I use the multi-position screen either when I'm using it like a tablet, or I'll fold the screen back and use my own bluetooth keyboard and mouse. The hinge is tight and holds the screen in any position very nicely. The colors are good, and movies are clear and crisp. The touch panel works smoothly, and I find myself using my fingers almost as often as my mouse. Also, I often plug in an...

This is an awesome laptop/notebook. Works as expected. The weight was a big surprise. The sound sounds great too! I bought this one so I could bring it along with me where ever I go plus watch movies from Netflix/Amazon without the "black" bars I was getting with my nexus 9.
I thought it was a good time to buy one of these as the price dropped from approx $800+ down to $699. I'm a little miffed/hurt though as it continued to drop an additional $150. Sad :( I wish there was a price drop policy I could take advantage of this time. I'm ok with $30-50 etc type drops but $150 price drop so shortly after me buying it has me a little miffed. It is too much of a bite off my buy price that its too hard to chew on, if ya get what I mean.

Sophia Arca VertizSophia Arca Vertiz: I bought this laptop as a present for my girl because she didn't want to deal with the complications of using Windows, so I thought a Chromebook would be perfect for her. Turns out, it is! I was very surprised by how great the build quality is for a cheap laptop. Even though it is plastic, it's a smooth, hard plastic, and the hinges are very strong. The screen is amazing, bright with good colors. For basic tasks like browsing, documents, play store games, streaming platforms, and listening to music, it is very fast and snappy. We haven't tried more demanding tasks yet, but we'll see. The battery life is decent so far. I'm very happy with this purchase; I got it on Black Friday, so I paid less than 200 dollars, and for that price, it's really worth it!
P.S.: It's a little bit heavier than I expected, but it's fine for carrying it in a backpack.
P.S.2: When it's updating, the base of the laptop gets very hot, so more demanding tasks might cause it to throttle a bit due to the heat.
