Alex 'The Curious': I'm a car mechanic by trade, so this multimeter is indispensable for me. Whilst I considered going for a more expensive model from a competitor, I decided to "settle" for one of these.

After a couple uses, I was very surprised by how well-built and well-featured it was. I've used it for a few months now on both cars and also small electronics (fault-finding faulty torches, hand lamps, lift switch boards, iPods) and actually cannot fault it. If I were absolutely nit-picking, I could suggest that the continuity mode option could be slightly more obvious to use (having to press the "Select" button to switch to it) but overall, it's such a fool-proof device. It's also remarkably handy having the lanyard with magnets.

It's actually much more handy than I expected, I tend to pair it with a set of 2 meter wires with crocodile clips. Very handy for diagnosing faults across a vehicle or even for trying to figure out wiring runs after a vehicle has had bad wiring repairs in the past.

Overall, very happy, I ended up buying one for work and one for home only a few weeks later!

"a-okay": スペック的には問題ないし、値段もリーゾナブルで、スタンド機能もあるので使い勝手が良さそうだ。ある程度大きいかなと思いながら購入したが、実際手にとって見るとか予想よりかなり大きくて重い。後ろにマグネットが付いているが、本体にテストリードを接続したままスチール棚に付けるとずれ落ちてしまう。強度の磁力を持ったマグネットにしてほしかった。簡易でも構わないが、箱とかケースがあると便利だと思う。

takkun: 精度はともかくテスター、ディジタルマルチメーターとしてはコスパは満足出来る製品です。DIYでは十分な機能を持っていると思います。電気関係のプロでもそこそこ使えそう。電流測定で精度がどうと言うレビューについて一言、クランプ測定でなければ電流回路にテスターの内部抵抗が直列に入ることになりその抵抗分で電流そのものが変わることがあり測定値に影響する場合があるので十分注意が必要かと思います。電圧測定でも電圧眼のインピーダンスが高ければテスターの内部抵抗が測定値に影響する。測定器・計測器の声制業務のプロとしての意見です。

Marty: I believe the design is essentially one that uses the cheapest parts that still provide mostly high quality measurements. I don't expect it to last forever and I already own broken multimeters. I thought my best multimeter (USA brand, $80, but also made in China) just went on the blink which is the reason why I bought this one. I made the mistake of not testing its battery with a load on it. Its display lit up bright but went into crazy and the battery tested at 9.5v. Shame on me for not testing the battery properly. I use my cheap H.F. multimeter for testing 1.5 & 9v batteries since it can test them properly but often I'm lazy and only apply the voltage test which bit me here. Zinc carbon batteries are notorious for sometimes testing at a high voltage even when dead. "Lucky" for me I accidentally discovered the battery was dead when I received my new multimeter. (I put the dead battery in the new DM6000AR and it acts completely dead unlike in my more expensive multimeter which displays, albeit incoherently.)

I'm currently in the process of taking down my over-the-range microwave oven to replace what I expect to be a blown thermal fuse. I've had to test ceramic fuses on...

West Texas: I ordered this for one reason only. To trace what appeared to be a parasitic drain in my Jeep. I felt pretty stupid when I was done.

The meter worked to perfection. I set it to DC voltage (Capital V with a line next to it with three dots under that) so I could measure millivolts (mV). Prior to testing I made sure I had not started the Jeep, opened doors or in any way done anything that might cause even a temporary power drain. I opened the fuse box in the engine compartment and started touching the meter probes to the tiny metal spots exposed on top of each fuse. Some showed 0.0 mV. Some showed a value around 0.3 mV and then went down to 0.0 mV. Normal so far. Woah! This one is sticking at 10.5 mV. Not good. What is that fuse for? Power outlet. Uh oh. My Jeep has two power outlets. One switched and the other unswitched or on all the time even if the key is off. It’s winter. I have a heated pad on the drivers seat. I thought I had it in the switched outlet. Had it in the unswitched. Unplugged the heat pad. Test the fuse again. 0.0 mV. Stupid is is stupid does.
This meter has some good weight to it so it doesn’t feel cheap. I’m not sure about the magnets. They are...
