Hristo N.: I got this one to replace my failed cheap multimeter. I couldn't confirm how accurate it is, but for non-professional use seems to be fit for purpose. What I like is that it has continuity check, contactless current detection ( it shows that the cable is live or not, when it's near it) and it is even auto-ranging, so no stress if you chose the wrong parameters.

Kimberly C.: I was looking to purchase a dedicated capacitance test meter to check HVAC/motor capacitors, but decided to also look at DMMs with a capacitance feature and came across this AstroAI model. For a $20 meter ($16 on sale), I must say I'm impressed with the build quality. I have not used it extensively yet, but did check it out on a new 5/35uF HVAC capacitor and it gave measurements of 4.95/34.95 uF. Good enough for my purposes! This meter will replace my trusty 40 year old Hitachi DMM as my go-to "around the home" meter.

Alo Gavigan: Edit- I would like to add that AstroAi customer support reached out to me after this review, and was very apologetic about the situation. They said they would forward the problem to their engineers to sort it out. They offered a full refund or replacement product to resolve the issues I had. This is very good customer service that a lot of manufacturers take for granted these days and in my opinion, is 100% worth mentioning before you read my initial review first. They also want to list the fuses used inside because there very uncommon where I live so parts were easily available to their customers. Thank you Stella.

First of all, it's a nice meter. The light that shows you where you put your leads when you change the dial, very nice. But...the mA setting on it is a county mile away from being accurate, and the A setting is useless also for milliamps because it can't read low enough so you can't get an accurate reading either way. Probably good enough for a mechanic or someone using it for higher power draw jobs, but for PCB work of circuits you would be doing in college, forget about it.

Also, impossible to get 600mA/250V 32mm where I am. Looked about getting them...

Chris A: A very good multimeter for testing many of the everyday electrical systems and equipment in the home and car. It appears to be well made and on a few checks made on the test bench accurate. It’s easy to get to the batteries to replace them when required, but that doesn’t appear to be the case if one of the fuses get blown. In the instructions it tells you to remove the rubber casing to remove the screws and back, but try as hard as I could I couldn’t get the rubber casing off. I came to the conclusion that the only way I could remove the casing would probably destroy it so I gave up. I’ll just have to try and be ultra careful not to blow the fuses. Apart from that i believe this meter is good value for money.

Isac: I had it for about ten months and it decided to stop working, I was checking some voltages on a circuit when out of nowhere it wasn't able to read anything. I changed the batteries in case that was the issue, and it was not.

Update: the seller contacted me and offered to send me a replacement for the unit even though it had been almost a year. Due to the great customer service from them I've updated my review to 4 stars. Once again this meter worked quite well for me during the time I had it and their great customer service I'd recommend this product for a budget friendly DMM.

AzJazzAzJazz: I purchased this meter as a back-up. This is an inexpensive multimeter that comes with a few extra features.

Beyond the typical VDC, VAC, mA, Amps, Resistance and Capacitance readings, it also provides Non-Contact AC Voltage (NCV) and Live Wire AC Voltage detection. The construction is solid. The display backlighting is strong and works well.

Note that the NCV detection is fidgety, though. Placing the NCV detector (located at the top of the meter) near an operational 120 VAC outlet, the meter would reliably indicate a "Low" AC voltage (green light) when it is near the outlet. However, it takes a lot of tiny meter position adjustments to get the NCV to indicate "High" AC voltage (red light) near the "hot" line of the AC outlet. The NCV operation is unreliable enough that I may just pull out the probes and plug them in. I subtracted a star from the final product rating as a result.

I have included pictures of the meter's contents. The red/black meter probes come with a protective cap over the banana jacks - these will probably be lost within the first month of use. The meter probes are normally fully insulated, exposing a small sharp tip for probing circuitry....
