EDR: It worked extremely well getting a throttle body intake plenum clamp off of a Land Rover LR2. Prevented having to remove a bunch of components to get to it. Excellent quality product.

Lambier: The photos of these picks/hooks makes it look like the handles will be a hard plastic. In fact, the handles have a somewhat soft rubbery grip that makes them easy to firmly grip. The metal hook part is very sturdy and perfectly suited for the job.

Yuuuup: These are not a cheap product. I was reluctant to purchase but finally decided to. The handles are solid and fit my big hands nicely. The shafts are made of strong material. I’d be very surprised if I’d ever bend one. Good tool for the Box.

Amazon Customer: Not the best clic-R pliers ever, but for cheap these get the job done fairly reliably.

Etienne Gallant: This set of hose removal hooks is really one of my best tools for removing or braking loose any old radiator hoses that are stuck. After a couple of years on a vehicle, these hose have a tendency to loose flexibility and getting stuck. These hooks are perfect for getting under them and breaking them loose. It never took me very long to remove any hoses with these. I had successfully removed hoses from radiators, thermostat housing, heater cores and other kind of non-automotive stuff. The metal is of good quality and is strong enough not to deform in any way. I believe that this set of hooks will last me 4ever.

Mystery_Shopper: Amazon has a lot of variety for when it comes to these hose clamp pliers tools. Most are the cheap and with a few uses the cable breaks. My first one i bought was a $15 one but lasted almost a year, it was cheap but got the job done. I decided when it broke i would buy something better, well it broke when i needed it so i had no chose but to buy one, i spent a little while deciding on whether to buy a good one or another cheap one to get buy. I decided to purchase a better one which was this one. Arrived quickly for me to use it, the overall quality feels exact same to my cheap one. It doesn't bend like the old one but doesn't feel like the quality i was expecting from a company name like this. It does the job and removes the hose clamps without effort, it is
worth the purchase but for the price i would have just purchased the cheapest one because for a DIYer, there isn't a point but for me using it professionally i don't think the quality is as high as i was expecting. It's overall a decent unit but expensive as a whole. I just hopefully it holds up longer than my previous one but time will tell.

Matthew P.: I bought these some time ago... At least 2 years. I am an auto technician by trade and I have used several different brands of cable type "remote" hose clamp pliers. These are by far the best.
Better than Snap On
Better than Blue Point
Better than Craftsman
Better than the very expensive pair of S-K pliers that I bought (turns out those are re-labeled Mayhews anyway). Though I will say I like the handle on the Mayhew/S-K pliers better.
Why is this particular Astro remote hose clamp pliers tool better? Two reasons:
The cable is the thickest I've used on ANY of these type that I've used before. I've used it hard for what must be going on 3 years now and haven't noticed any real cable stretch. Every other pair of pliers I've used have noticeable stretch after 6 months. After 1 year, most become stretched beyond usefulness. And it has a threaded adjustment to compensate for any stretch or to just better fit whatever specific spring clamp you happen to be working with.
The end that grips the spring clamp itself is a lower profile and seems to grip better than the others I've used as well.
The only downside is it seems it takes a lot more...
