Nathaniel william hardrick: Shoes look great and are fairly durable. Pretty good value for the price. The shoes run a little slim though. Could be a breaking them in issue.

Mike41Mike41: My son started wrestling in November of 2022 for JV and Varsity. I bought him ASICS Men's Matflex 6 Wrestling Shoes. Those definitely did the job and were under 60 bucks. However at one of the weekend jv events I noticed they were getting worn out, because he practiced in them also. So I decided to let him pick out shoes. It came down to all blue Rudis, These, and a similar color scheme from Scraplife ($180). He went with these and he loves them. He lost his first match with them against an experienced varsity guy, but he said he felt a difference with his feet and the grip. He wore them for the second time at JV counties and came in 4th and made the podium. Only negative is while they look cool they are white (he wanted white) and you notice the dirt faster. I told him to use his matflex for practice. Nice shoes. Also unlike the Asics Matflex we didn't have to go up a half size. My son wears a 10.5 in normal shoes and he got these in 10.5.

JV: Son has always worn ASICS. Got him a pair of the JB’s for off season tournaments earlier this year. Says this is the best pair of ASICS ever. Better grip, the split sole makes them better form fitting. Those are now his practice shoes and bought him a new pair for current season.

WakeeWakee: Purchased these shoes for my first time high school wrestler. Since I'm new to the wrestling world, I was unfamiliar with what brands were good and popular among wrestlers. My son has used ASICS track sprinter shoes, cross country, as well as regular running shoes, so I figured I'd take a chance on these wrestling shoes. ASICS did not disappoint us again.

The season is coming to and end at his school and the shoes held up for him so he will be able to wear it through summer training and hopefully next season. The size 8 shoes fit as expected. My son had no complaints the entire season with construction or comfort. On a funny note, not sure if it's just my son or it's a normal thing amongst wrestlers, but his shoes started getting super stinky...even after changing socks! My guess is it's because wrestlers sweat a lot and purposely make themselves sweat at times to make weight. That being said...after desperation, I washed his shoes in the washing machine under warm quick wash cycle with a little bit of bleach then air dried them. Well that seemed to help! CyBeRjUnKiE: Please note the US sizing is a tad small, but if you follow the EU sizing, it's exactly what it's supposed to be. So before you order, make sure you research on the proper EU sizing and choose properly. ASICS website also acknowledges the smaller than expected US sizes and have the US to EU conversion.
