Arm & Hammer Clump & Seal Multi-Cat Litter, 38 lb. - Odor Control & Easy Cleanup

CBMom: I agree with the reviewer who called this the Holy Grail of cat litter. I've been cleaning cat boxes for over 40 years and this is by far the best product I've ever used. It clumps great, there is literally no smell of cat waste, and it lasts and lasts. It takes months to use up a box of this with one cat! Even though its more expensive, I use less of it because I don't have to keep adding cat litter every few days. It clumps so good that the soiled litter gets scooped out and not left in the box to cause odor and difficulty clumping when used again. I have NO idea how this product got any bad reviews. If you don't believe me - listen to my cat. Right now she has two litter boxes - one has this litter and one has a cheaper Arm and Hammer product. When I first started using Clump and Seal I noticed that she was using the other litter box less frequently. Eventually she completely stopped using the litter box with the cheaper litter probably because of the odor. My cat has made a clear choice! I never thought I'd leave a review about cat litter but this product is just that good.

Amazon Customer: Before I switched over to this litter, I was using World's Best Cat Litter. The reason I switched over was because the previous brand of litter failed to hide any odours whatsoever. I found that the smell walking into my apartment would be horrible, verging on unbearable - and that was only with one cat. Everything has changed since switching to Arm & Hammer Clump and Seal. This litter has far exceeded my expectations not only in terms of eliminating odour, but also for clumping. The previous brand of litter would clump relatively well, but not as good as this. Dust is also way less of an issue compared to World's Best. It used to be tracked all over the house and furniture, but that is no longer an issue with Arm & Hammer. The price is also more affordable and I find that this litter lasts longer, especially if you get the 38 pound box. I know there is much debate surrounding clay based litters, but if you're comfortable with them, then I would highly recommend using this one.

Rhonda S: Love the product; HATE the packaging. I don't understand why something that is so heavy is meant to be POURED! Especially a 38 lb box.The top should open so you can scoop out the litter the way the other brands do. I tried telling Arm & Hammer in an email, but got back a letter telling me that they were sorry I didn't like their product. It won't stop me from using it; I just use a knife and open the top anyway.

faeriemess: I think I have honestly tried just about every cat litter on the market, and this one is worth finding.

This clump and seal A&H litter is THE BEST overall litter I can find. It actually clumps well, it's fine without being too dusty, it keeps odours down to a minimum, and most importantly both of my cats like to use it. I've tried many other litters, and all the environmentally friendly ones and whatnot, and either they are horrible and messy for me, or worse, one of my cats will decide they hate pine/corn/newspaper/magic/ etc. and will show their displeasure by going right outside the box. No such issues with this cat litter.

Also, this one isn't ridiculously expensive (a certain "best" brand cat litter costs a small fortune and one of my cats was unimpressed)

SO HAPPY amazon is carrying this, THANK YOU! None of my local pet stores carry it, and we were forced to shop at the dreaded Wall of Marts just to buy cat litter. The prime delivery option is a fantastic bonus!

Drew Petersen: More sand-like than Purina's MaxScoop (which I had been using religiously until they discontinued it for one odd reason).
The smell is pleasant and I didn't notice much dust when I was pouring it. Also my cat took to it right away which I'm very happy with as cats can be very fussy when it comes to changes to their litter or food.
Also the box has a very convenient nylon handle and spout built into it, no muss, no fuss.

Crystal-Lynn: NO WAY can you buy this size litter in any store for this price and quantity sold here by Amazon!!!! You would have to buy up to Four (4) Large Boxes in any store to equal the Lbs. of this box. WHAT AN INCREDIBLE SAVINGS, AND....It is delivered right to your front door. So there is no worry about having to slug it up any stairs or slug it home in the smaller boxes from our local stores (cat litter is extremely heavy to even reach it up into your shopping cart if you are alone with no assistance. And this box just keep lasting, and lasting, I will purchase another One (1) at the end of the month, I won't need it yet, but I'd rather have the door to door delivery. And finally this Brand works amazing. I use it in concert with The Litter Locker II Product. You should check that product out as well. I also reviewed it and the refill bags.

Laura Varela: I've tried Arm & Hammer Clump and Seal as well as Tidy Cats lightweight 24/7 clumping litter, and Arm & Hammer Multi-Cat litter. All of them perform well, but Clump & Seal was by far the best. I have 2 kittens and one larger cat:

Clumping performance: Both Arm & Hammer litters clump really well. I had some issues with Tidy Cats not clumping very well and therefore leaving behind little bits of cat urine. It was slightly less clean and sanitary, so it fell short compared to the Arm & Hammer litters.

Odor control: I suspect due to the slight lack of clumping that Tidy Cats produced, it also fell short in this category. Both Arm & Hammer litters performed well in this category, although I must say this one performed much better with all three of my cats. I used to have just one cat, and the Multi-Cat litter worked wonders, but when I got my two kittens, it ended up starting to smell more. I switched to Clump & Seal and haven't had a problem with odor since. *With regular, sanitary cleaning, of course.

Weight: Of course the Tidy Cats lightweight takes the gold in this category, coming in at about 8.5 pounds, where the Arm & Hammer...

TBV: My warehouse club changed formulas of their kitty litter and it became very dusty. I have allergies as do my kitties so I needed to find a low dust formula for multiples. I have a kitty who loves to dig & this litter works out great! The cats do track it a little bit, but I can live with that as long as it keeps the odor down & they will use it. I love the fact that it is delivered to the door, in fact my UPS man just put it out in my garage for me so I don't have to lift it until it is needed!

Edited on 9/14 - It sure would be nice if UPS or Fedex delivered instead of sending it through the USPS. That is the point of having it delivered. SO I don't have to handle it! My mail carrier doesn't care to "dismount" and bring the heavy boxes up to the porch!

R. W.: This cat litter was recommended to me by a pet store employee who told me that she had gotten rave reviews from customers who used it. From the 1st box, I could tell a difference. This litter CLUMPS, I have not had it fall apart at all and THAT makes the litter box so much easier to clean. The smell is pleasant.

I even ripped the plastic bag for the dirty litter and almost all the clumps came out. ONLY 1 broke apart!!!! VERY easy clean up!!!

I would also recommend a metal ergonomic kitty litter scoop. Works wonderfully with this litter. (I broke a plastic one)

PROS:
NO dust to speak of!!!
pleasant smell
GREAT clumping

To date - best kitty litter I have used

CONS:

Although there is still an odor, it seems quickly absorbed.
Actually, I hesitate to call this a con, because like humans, kitties poop. If they cover it up, the odor will be absorbed. All you have to do is clean it out on a regular basis.

LyndaB: I bought this brand and type of cat litter for the first time about 6 months ago when it was "reduced for clearance" at my local grocery store - I really liked it, but then they stopped stocking it, and I tried a different type of Arm & Hammer litter, but it wasn't as good. I also tried other brands of clumping litter, which were also not as good - the clumps fell apart, the granules were larger and my cat tracked them through the house, and it did not hide odors that well. When I saw this deal on Amazon, I jumped on it (especially as I don't drive, so it was great having 2 large boxes of cat litter delivered to my front door, free with Amazon Prime!!). This is absolutely the best cat litter I have ever used (and I've had cats for over 35 years!), and as long as I can afford it, and find it (still not available at my local store...), I will buy it - it is very fine, so there is no tracking, the clumps stick together and are very easy to remove, and it smells fantastic! - I can have a bag of discarded clumps sitting in my laundry room for a couple of days, and it smells fresh (honestly - I stuck my nose in it and sniffed, just to check it out, and all I could smell was perfume...
