William: No way around it, if you use a refractometer without this solution you are not accurately checking your SG. To use this solution accurately is must be at the temperature specified. However to use it MOST accurately I personally let the bottle float in my sump insuring the water and the solution are the same temperature when I calibrate the meter and then check my SG.

Keith Bratley: Happy I bought this. My tank has been up and runny for almost a year. I test my water a lot. Like a lot. Never once have I checked to make sure my refractometer was calibrated correctly. I ordered this after watching a vid on YouTube by reef dudes. I’m glad I did. For a year my tank had been at 1.022, when I was seeing 1.026. This took me by surprise but I’m relieved Bc it explains the troubles I’ve been having with my parameters. BUY THIS PRODUCT. Sometimes as hobbyist we complicate things. This is simple and easy and will give you a accurate reading.

Hannahrain: Purchased this to calibrate my ATC Refractometer. I was using RO water to calibrate but when I would have my salinity checked at my LFS, it would be lower than the reading I was getting at home. Purchased this product and so far my readings have been more accurate.

Craig Williams: Works great, the instructions suck but I won't mark it down - it shows salinity as 35ppm but if you're using a refractometer and you probably are you need a different scale - for reef tanks use 1.0269 (1.027). It fixed mine unit which was showing a good tank around 1.025 and it was really 1.021 so worth the money!
