Joy: It takes a tiny bit of working with it to get it right - but this thing is brilliant. It's soft stretchy fabric, like volley ball shorts. You stretch it out, you fill the pouches with sand (put the filled pouches into the holes where you dug the sand. Then you take the poles and put them underneath to lift up the "roof" and put the "scrunchies" on the pole tops to hold the roof on the poles. (It all makes sense when you see what you have to work with.) Oddly enough, the fabric sheds the sand pretty readily so you aren't packing home fifty pounds of sand. It comes with a plastic scoop to scoop sand that isn't as sturdy as it could be. But that's the only real down side. Everything fits in a zippered bag that light and easily carried.

Dale RogersDale Rogers: This canopy is large, easy to set up, provides plenty of shade, and is easy to move if needed. It worked perfectly during our week at a North Carolina beach. I've used a variety of sun shelters and pop-up tents at the beach, and this is my go-to.

1. It's a sun canopy, not a rain tent. It won't keep you dry, so don't expect it to.
2. If the wind blows really hard then it won't stay up, but I don't know any tint other than Shibumi Shade that will, and it Shimubi expensive & really loud in a hard wind. This canopy held up just fine and light to moderate wind. It didn't blow down once, but I didn't try to keep it up and hard wind. When storms moved in and the wind picked up really hard, I took it down. The only thing the Shimubi has is a lifetime warranty, which somewhat justifies the cost, but based on what I paid for this canopy, I can get five or six of these for the price of one Shimubi, so it's ultimately up to you.
3. The polls collapse by breaking apart, and if sand gets on the points that connect, then the polls can be difficult to pull apart or put back together. Just make sure to brush the sand off when assembling or tearing down, and...

Cissie B: I love how lightweight and easy to assemble this canopy is. I can put it up by myself with little effort. Yes, it took a couple of times to master, but I got it done. It has only been used about 4 times so far. I was disappointed that one of the bands to keep the pole and fabric together was broken, but I have just wrapped it around like a rubber band. For the price, I am satisfied.

AlanaAlana: I ordered this for the beach and it worked out perfectly!! Very easy set up and great shading from the sun. The only con is that the little shovel that came with it broke on the first time scooping up the sand. Thank goodness I had my daughters sand toys with us so that I could use her shovel to finish filling the sandbags. I love that it came with a beach blanket as well, it was a perfect size. Overall, this is a great product and very affordable!!
